Baghdad Reporter Posts Youtube Video-Updated w/New Video by panicbean Posted on: http://panicbean.dailykos.com/ Tue Aug 05, 2008 at 09:20:02 AM PDT I just watched this video at The Raw Story site. It is a video that needs to be made available to as many people as possible, because we will never see it on any traditional media outlet. (Notice the use of traditional media, kos, because I ain't no outsider, dammit.) The walls that we are building in Iraq, and on our border with Mexico, are simply inhumane. Have we just quit trying to communicate and solve our problems with diplomacy? Have we asked the Iraqis' to do the same thing? Is building a wall the only solution this administration can come up? This video certainly answers that last question. I find it very disconcerting that we are now building walls between Mexico and the United States of America. Who do these walls benefit? Who are they keeping out, and who are they keeping in? We worked hard to tear down the wall between East and West Germany. The world celebrated when that wall came down. Now we are building walls, again. One in the name of illegal immigration problem solving, and the other in the name of supposed peace. Both are lies. Watch the video, post it on your blog, send it out in an email. Just please get it out there.
A look at the other side of the coin, very sad, but of course its a war against reason, as well as terror, isn't it? They should call it the war on rationality. But its just business as usual for the pentagon. Their slogan should be "Building tomorrow's enemies, brings tomorrow's supplemental war funding". Being a war oriented society means never having to say you are sorry. Or admit you were wrong. Just remind everyone to support those troops, and stop letting that nasty conscience bother them. Freedom isn't free, you know. Costs at least 2 trillion, maybe more. But why does the Iraqi government have so much money in The Federal Reserve Bank in New York, if their people are in need? http://www.wtopnews.com/?nid=105&sid=1454682
at 3:12 you can see a joint in his ear of the first video, they've been killing each other for 1000's of years in that area, us getting involved just made us look bad. Nothing can stop hatred that has been burning that long.
It's hard for me to trust any "numbers" coming out of Iraq. It's not like those "numbers" haven't been fudged before. Fuck numbers.
It is your fault. Your government has had troops stationed all throughout the middle east long before you invaded Iraq or Afghanistan. By doing that you pissed off the locals a bit and they attacked you. The numbers are there, when you pull your troops out of a region it makes the region much more stable and they will hate you a lot less. How would you feel if there was a Russian military base in your back yard?
Just want to stress that I didn't ask to be born American. That being said, I didn't ask to be born anywhere else. Actually, I didn't even ask to be born, at least in the sense of "I" that I most frequently come into contact with.
Good call. I'll rephrase. It's your governments fault and partly your fault as a citizen who chooses to be content with it.
