Bagged Potting Soil to Start

    Hey all...
    I'm going to try a mix starting with bagged potting soil. I'm a beginner and there is some appeal to this, so that's what I decided on.

    So, I'm mixing up around 8 gallons of soil, equal parts ocean forrest and happy frog, and about 25% work castings.

    I've added a cup of dolomite lime, 1.5 cups of kelp meal, 1 cup of Dr. Earth Flower girl, and 1 cup of fish bone meal.

    Added perlite and some handfulls of hydroton until it looked good.

    Anyway, it seems like it is reasonably diversified and has amounts that are mostly consistent with other mixes that I've read about.

    What do you think? Will this mix get me through a complete cycle, 8 or 9 week veg? I'd like to reuse it and feed the soil over time.

    I feel like I have read tons of posts, viewed countless videos, etc on organic gardening and I still feel like I don't know what the hell I'm doing but here goes. :)

    Just the ocean forest and 25% perlite for now please

    the rest is unnecessary fluff

    Tried that and couldn't get through flower without adding bottled nutrients.

    how large of a container? how long did you veg for? how large was the plant when switching to flower?

    7 gal smarties, 8 weeks, not sure how big.
