uh.... back in new york which is both a good thing and a bad thing, but the best thing is that i went to ny gifts today, and picked up a stemless natural US Tube with me and my roommate. 7mm. also got a Kristian Merwin slide, and he's an artist i've never heard of but the slide is so heady and i got it for fairly cheap. ny gifts is THE spot. seriously. i rep them hard haha. anyway. pictures. THICK JOINTS. 4 hole waffle? i don't know what this thing is but it bubbes so much! different then the toro. i like it though. very nice. thick base, which is important in any tube haha. i dig the label on there too. this built in ashcatcher thing? sadly doesn't catch ash very well, but it does add for some nice diffusion. i might just bring my toro trashcatcher to here and leave the LEAR at home. ah decisions. onto the heady slide. i was going to pick up a saltini for 95, which i thought was a pretty good deal, but my friends talked me out of it because they don't really appreciate name glass artists, but whatever haha. this bowl does look way better for the piece. i was blinded by the name. Kristian Merwin. Super nice dude. love the black joint too. don't have to clean it as often. this slide was very hard to photograph, especially the marble. it has a little something in it that is very reflective and kind of creates a prism in the right light. weird. also got the stock US tubes ice pinch that came with the piece. i like the black handle. jesus alright megapost. and also some milk of course. in the dorm now though so i can't really show you how fat the rips are. have to blow out the window. looks like your water levels are a little low. it should be filled to about level with the disc (called a disc diffuser btw) for max filtration
Yeah I agree, although it seems it might get a bit draggy since the water level would also be higher on the downstem :/
yeah i'm working on the water levels. i dunno about schooled but haha. with my toro i fill it up above the disk. but with this it has a lot of splash back if the water level is too high. i'm still working on it, but thanks.
i really don't mean to be a dick, but what splashes back exactly? i doubt you get a mouthful of bongwater because of the size of that motherfucker, but the side chamber is just for extra diffusion, not meant to catch ash, you'd just as well use the tube with no downstem, just a slide in the joint. either way, sorry to derail this thread. you have an awesome tube there, and you'll be keeping it a long time with that US Tubes build quality and craftsmanship, not to mention the 100% american, made-in-house glass.
i got it almost perfect now. it just has a lot of drag with so much water. i'm still working on getting it to where i want it to be. i love the purchase though. wish i had my toro ashcatcher.
This would be more work of course, but could you purchase a shorter downstem. At least, then you could eliminate some of the drag while still having the water levels equal to the disc diffuser? also sweet pick up man.
i like the chunk of opal in the slide. i love us tubes. got me a standard 7 mm too. technically for stemless shouldnt there be no downstem?
yeah i dunno they gave me a downstem at the store? i guess you don't need a downstem. i'll try it without and report back. maybe post a vid haha. damn i really tried to get him to give me one of those sick ass sheldon black diffusers but he wouldn't haha. he was going to on another straight tube i was looking at.
not really. he gave me a fucking deal haha. 400 on the tube. 500 with the heady slide and a bowl for my friend too. plus the the stock bowl. plus a shitload of hemp wick and pipe cleaners. the guys a homie haha. p.s. i just checked the downstem situation, and it's a no go, the joint is huge! 24 mm i want to say? it's fucking huge too big for just a slide. it needs the downstem too. i got a vid coming a few minute with the perfect water level.
i've been checking out that same stemless natural at my local headshop lately, it's clean as fuck. nice pickup, brother...
sick piece man, so jealous. would you mind telling me what the name of the song is in your second milk vid?
that my friend is the legend Mark Farina's Mushroom Jazz. Search is and see if you can download it somewhere. it's amazing,
