  1. Hey all, been quite some time since I've been around. Life got a little crazy and I just didn't have time to be on, I also had to take some months off due to life circumstances.

I have been playing with a few different things since I was last on. Finished my SIP grow and learned that a full size growbox, earthbox, city pickers will grow damn trees inside. Biggest plants I've ever grown and yields were phenomenal, however I fought humidity big time throughout flower. Even with the dehumidifier set to 35% in the grow room, my tents were hovering around 60% throughout the entire flower period.

Anyway didn't want to deal with humidity issues so next grow I switched back to my 10g fabric smart pots.

That being said I'm still so impressed with how the SIPs did that I decided to buy 4 of the earthbox juniors to run in the 4x4' tent this grow.

Anyway already have seeds popped and up. Here is the current lineup:

Lilac Diesel #22 x Cherry Punch
    Lilac Diesel #22 x Grandpa's Stash
Lilac Diesel #22 x White Wedding
    Durban Thai x C99

    Tent: 4x4x7' AC Infinity
    Light: HLG Blackbird 600w
    Pots: 4x Earthbox Jr.
    Soil: recycled organic soil
Nutes: One shot and Bud Doublin

Girls have only been sprouted for 2 days now, just waiting for them to fill out their starter pots to get them transplanted into the EBJ's. Will post up a pic of the babies a little later.

  4. Good to see you back and growing again. I can only run SIP's in my greenhouse or in my little 2x2 tent as the pot and saucer is outside my tent. I had the same high humidity issues.

  5. Yes those are the ones, not sure how they work yet as I have only tried the full size ones and they grew absolute trees, almost overwhelmed my 7' tall tent. Hoping these ones will work the same but keep the girls slightly smaller.

  6. Thanks man, and yeah they are the bomb as far as I can tell. Hoping the juniors won't disappoint compared to the full size, but only time will tell.

Yep, that’s an Earthbox. I have the large Earthboxes. The planter is highly engineered. The planter is a fairly complex molding (for gardening anyway) that has “bosses” that the perforated platform sits on, making the bottom a water reservoir. Two corners of the bottom have little “dams” where you pack soil. This is the wick. I put weed mat on my perforated platform, place it on top of the bosses, over the reservoir and fill to top with medium. The pipe shown fits down into one corner and becomes the water fill pipe. There is a weep hole on the side to tell you when the res is full- when it weeps, the res is full. I also bought a wheel kit; four casters that pop into receptacles in the bottom.

Mine are remarkable for lettuce and strawberries. Plant grow fast and subsequently use a LOT of water. With a 2 1/2 gallon reservoir, I add a gallon to gallon and a half every other day. The large hold about a cubic foot (28 L) of medium.

  8. Yep it was a nightmare fighting the humidity and constantly stressing mold, but I got lucky and didn't end up with any mold even with the humidity riding around 60% in tents.

Really hoping these smaller ones will help with that, if not I'm going to figure out a way to pipe my dehumidifier pulling from the tent and control humidity directly as opposed to controlling in the grow room.

Keeping my fingers crossed for good things this time.

  10. I’ve had some good auto runs with the Jr. I have to step up the watering in hot weather of course but they do well. I use SIPs all over the garden for a variety of stuff.

  11. No those are the root and veg, they are way deep and have read lots of negative on them. These are the juniors, same shape and size as the regular ones just smaller. According to earthbox they hold 1 cu ft soil and 1 gallon reservoir.

  12. I now have 4 growboxes and 6 city pickers I am using outside and they did amazing on my veggies this year, largest harvest of tomatos, pepper, and cucumbers I've ever had out of any style of growing. So easy to care for as well.

  14. Nice line up for genetics you have. That Durban-Thai x C99 is one I plan on growing. I'll watch you grow it and hopefully learn something. I'm growing some Ethos this winter too. I have End Game"The Punch Line" going now. I just got my seed order today for one of their newest releases called Zweet Inzanity Rbx. I got 5 Lemon Skunk x LBCOG Bx3 regular freebies too.

  15. I couldn't go back to anything shorter then 7', this damn HLG blackbird is a flamethrower and I like decent size ladies. How these guys do it in 4' tall tents is utterly beyond my scope.

  17. So my father actually just completed an outdoor run on the Durban Thai x c99 and it came put amazing, I'm looking forward to it, but right now I have a love affair with Ethos, their genetics have yet to let me down a single time. I'm done with Barney's Hermies for good.
