AVB tincture advice?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Coffeybean94, Jun 1, 2022.

  1. Decided to weigh out the AVB I have saved and it’s come out to a little over 2 ounces, and I’ve been inspired to attempt making a tincture!
    - I wanted to try using about an ounce of AVB, how much alcohol should I use?
    - I was probably going to try and go for the freezer method, and am torn over whether to go for the minimal day or wait a few weeks shaking daily. Anybody have experience with this method?

  2. Ive made oil from abv tinctures. Abv can be somewhat spent depending on the vape so it doesnt have the strength of fresh buds. So i use the same alcohol for 2 or more abv washes.

To answer your question, just enough alcohol to cover the abv.

  3. You'll need enough high proof alcohol to cover your material by about a half inch. Most of anything good is already gone from your AVB so just the quicker version would be best. According to my lab comparison, there's only 4-6% THC left and it is not decarbed, either. :)

  4. I’ve never made a tincture before, does this mean, say I used 14g and then after straining, redo it with 14g of new avb? That’s kinda genius if so lmao

  5. That works just fine. There's not enough cannabinoids left to get anywhere near full saturation. :)

  6. Thanks Sam, I've always assumed the THC in ABV was decarbed. Now that you've mentioned it, I may have read something somewhere along the line that said it wasn't completely decarbed but who knows, so much of the information is copied from one weed site to another and usually where the info comes from isn't listed. This makes it practically impossible to actually fact check these things and that's why I appreciate info like yours that's been lab tested. I bet the amount of THC remaining also depends partially on the temp at which it was vaped.

This is the test from the AVB. A lot depends on how high the heat used and for how long. This was vaped at 410°F but not for long. There was some green left. And most of what's left is THCa.

Here's the comparison between AVB and roach dope. AVB vs Roach Dope Lab Comparison Post 8549

  8. I'm not sure leaving the vape in the alcohol is doing anything
I would filter and reduce in a double boiler set up. slope unblocked
Still unsure of what you get, maybe cbn/cbd.
