AVB Nutella Sandwich

Discussion in 'Cannabis & Weed Edibles: Cooking & Recipes' started by -CosmicZen-, Sep 4, 2017.

  1. So i've been saving some Avb and was wondering how to best use it. I've made firecrackers, those are fun, but this time around I had an idea and wanted to run it past you guys. So a little of what I know.
    1. When making edibles you're supposed to decarboxylate to activate the THC, this part isn't necessary with AVB because vaping does that for you.
    2. You should extract the psychoactive components with some type of fatty oil like all natural peanut butter or Nutella. This is where the baking part comes in.
    3. You can circumvent baking it if you let the weed just sit in a fatty mixture for a week or so. (some argue this is even more efficient)

On those premises, would it make sense to let all my AVB just sit in a tupperware with nutella or peanut butter for like a week and then just spread that on a sandwhich. I could make firecrackers, but my roommates are certainly not ok with it (they don't know I smoke/vape) What do you guys think?

  2. Sure, it will technically work. As you acknowledged, cannabis binds to fats and nutella / regular peanut butter aren't the best sources of that. You won't get the same results as you would if you used something higher in fat content, like coconut oil for example.

  3. Yeah usually I add Coconut oil to it. My biggest concern was whether or not heating it up could be replaced with letting it sit in the case of making a sandwich.

  4. Yup, it can. I'd recommend letting it sit for at least a couple weeks however. Green dragon is usually made in a similar fashion. The longer you let it sit, the more potent of an end product you are going to get (within reason considering foods expire)

  5. This is a common misconception.
Cannabinoids do not bind to fat, which would be a chemical reaction that is never mentioned in the scientific cannabis literature.

Cannabinoids will dissolve in oil, but that's not necessary, because our bodies can digest those cannabinoids along with most foods. Straight feco/rso users typically rely on that oil-less digestion to get medicated.

I've made all kinds of oils, as well as mixing herb with nut butter or nutella, and the nut butters actually work better than oil, because it keeps the herb suspended in the nut butter oil, instead of the herb settling to the bottom of a pill or container. Over time, that soaking might make the herb particles more digestible.

I've made nutella cracker sandwiches, and consumed them immediately, and they worked just fine, but I usually eat those that have been sitting around for awhile, and they might get a little stronger over time.
