AVB Capsules

Discussion in 'Cannabis & Weed Edibles: Cooking & Recipes' started by HerbJedenTag, Oct 9, 2012.

  1. Hey guys, Granny posted an article where a guy put some AVB into capsules. It said he put a 4th of a tablespoon in a capsule and got real faded. Well I'm not sure how much a 1/4th of a tablespoon is unless its actually 1/4th of a tablespoon so I split open some of my omega3 fish oil pills and packed one side with AVB. I put the other half of the pill inside the the one the side packed with AVB. I did this 3 times and here is the end result. I'm taking them now and will update as the night goes along.

  3. Haha, my whole kitchen smells like fish. I guess my ozium is going to take care of a smell that isnt weed.

  4. Keep us posted! Think they had to be tightly packed and finely grinded from what I remember.

  5. How are you feelin?

  6. I just made and ingested 2 more. YEEHAW

  7. Would be awesome if this works, would just be a lot cheaper and easier to get off AVB

  8. If I did 30 pushups would that make them work faster? Increasing blood flow and whatnot.

  9. How did it go?

  10. I usually eat 1-2 grams of avb in a milkshake..

It does work and gets you high for 4-5 hours (I have a fairly high tolerance and have been a daily smoker for 2 years). Not sure whats up with the guy in that article lol...sounds like a bitch

But ey can't knock it till you try it

  17. Cannabis glandular material is notoriously difficult for the digestive tract to digest and absorb. :)

Eating at the same time with oil helps because it 'lubes up' your cell walls (a fatty meal beforehand would have helped a bit more), but it is not much better than eating it all on its own. Your glandular material needs to be extracted and made bioavailable using oil for the best effect from the least material, which takes a bit more time/heat than than your body can provide during digestion alone!

Next time, find a canna oil recipe... following a reputable tutorial, and treating your vaped bud as though it's freshly-decarbed herb, will provide you with a MUCH better experience! :hello:

BadKat's Highly Activated & Bioavailable, Med-Grade Canna Oil (starting with flowers/bud/trim etc)

Since you've 'used' some of its potency ( :p ) and it's not as strong as un-vaped bud, if you wanted you could also opt for a concentrate.... it can be smoked, vaped, or transferred into oil for edibles. :)

BadKat's Highly Activated & Bioavailable, Med-Grade Cannabis Concentrate (Edible & Smokable recipes included...
similar to Phoenix Tears & BHO, but bioavailable & made with food grade/drinking alcohol)

Hope this helps, good luck next time!

  18. Ill definitely try eating a meal beforehand..but a question for you. Once in a blue a moon I make firecracker and they tend to work very well but this time, even though I put more in then usual they didn't work. And here is where I think I went wrong, when I was making my fatty concoction of coconut oil, butter, and peanut butter the mixture came out pretty soopy due to me pouring a bit too much coconut oil in. I tried to add more peanut butter to reverse it a little bit but I ran out:rolleyes:. Do you think thats why they failed?

There's a good chance that's why, firecrackers rely on there being very little material (oil) to heat up. :)

The more of the oil source you put on each cracker, the longer it's going to take for the heat to reach the center where your herb sits, and if you don't compensate for the extra material then its exposure to heat and the progress it makes will be dramatically reduced. It's a brief bake as it is with firecrackers, and there will be a greater delay initially compared to a cracker with half the peanut butter, so if they both cook for the same short amount of time the thinner cracker will work the best. It's why especially when making big batches of oil, we pre-heat the oil before mixing it with the decarbed herb, to prevent that delay! And a pan of brownies for instance, that bakes for 35 - 40 minutes at over 360 F, still only gets about 160 - 180 F inside depending on the thickness/depth of the pan

Firecrackers are definitely more thin than brownies, and with an airy biscuit, but they're also in the oven for a relatively brief amount of time. And even with the best of firecrackers, for medical patients whose bodies are accustom to oils, and their rapid/reliable delivery on a regular basis, a firecracker needs several times the material they'd usually consume, to provide something close to the same effects. It's a delicate balance.

Long story short! :p If they usually do more for you than this last one did, but you remember adding a bit too much of one or more ingredients, there was probably a longer delay before your cracker heated up in the middle, resulting in less extraction/bioavailability than normal.

Firecrackers really rely on heating up quickly to work decently, so a very thin layer and small amount of oil is the best way to go... just enough to coat the herb is more than enough in a firecracker where a solution is not being formed, and the herb itself is being eaten.

In the future, you can also try something just as easy, if you don't mind eating the herb....

Reduce the temp to just below 300 F (ie. below the flashpoint of THC, one of the more delicate cannabinoids), then in an oven bag, or an over safe dish or pan, decarb first if you have the time, then cover your herb with just enough butter or coconut oil to 'dampen' the herb, and try the same process as a firecracker without the crackers and with less oil volume to slow down the heat... if you only want to process the length of time you do for a firecracker, that's fine, but you can try a few minutes longer, just be sure you drop the temp if you're not using *clarified butter or coconut oil. (Butter (peanut butter as well) will burn a bit when cooked above 250 F for long, due to their solids, *clarifying your butter removes the milk solids and proteins that burn at those temperatures, increasing its cooking range.)

Once it's done, mix with a little peanut butter and powdered sugar, roll into balls, and you have a much more effective edible, it's tastier, and it requires just about as little effort as a firecracker (ie. when you replace building a firecracker, with mixing two or three ingredients in a bowl). :hello:

Oven bags are GREAT for this... you can make the entire recipe in the bag, start to finish, from decarbing, to the oil, to the peanut butter & sugar. :)
