  2. How the hell is that an invasion of privacy?

  3. damn i didnt even know about this but i dont think i would consider it an invasion of privacy

its actually a pretty good idea, sucks for carjackers tho lol

  4. sucks for anyone who has a warrant out or fake plates etc. etc. etc... just another way for them to keep an eye on everyone. i dont like the idea of this stuff AT ALL but i cant say that it is an invasion of privacy... just dont do any dumb shit that they can trace back to your plate i guess

  5. Just what they said on the news man
i wouldnt consider it invasion of privacy either
cause your plate is already out there for who ever to see.
This is just speeding it up and making it super easy for the cops

  6. So, why don't you like this idea?
You recognize it's not an invasion of privacy, so what makes you dislike this?

  7. people get fucked over by the system all the time. lose their license and don't know, get tagged for something they didnt really do, etc. etc. so its just making it that much easier for the cops to toss your ass in the slammer. thats why i dont like it. because if i get caught carrying weed and that goes on my name then all they have to do is read my plate and then they will probably pull me over, say they smell weed (because they saw my weed charge after they scanned my plate) then search me and find some and i go to jail.

this country is going further and further towards guilty until proven innocent and this is just helping that process.

edit: now that i tink about it this is definitely going to be a tool used to invade our privacy, but the tool itself is not invading privacy on its own.

  8. In my town, we started getting traffic cameras all over the place and the cops are starting to drive around in really fucked up undercover cars...I just hope they dont start stealing my blood like those cops in the midwest. That shit's too scary.

  9. Its just one more step closer to 1984..where we are so closely monitored that we will be shitting wiretaps and cameras in our homes..

to make sure we are being good little boys and girls and not disobeying and dissenting from what the good people in washington say we gotta be..

this country is damned..and cannot go anywhere but down..the American Empire will fall..and i will celebrate that day

  10. Sounds like your paranoia is overpowering your better judgment.
Sorry, I just can't see how this system would harm me at all.

What would you assume they would get "tagged" for that they didn't do?

"I didn't steal this vehicle officer...I mean, it's not mine, I just borrowed it for a few weeks without asking."

So, what you're saying is that you think this system is going to alert an officer if there is a cannabis charge on your file?!? Could you imagine how busy they would be with that? They would be quite the drug warrior(s) to dedicate so much time/energy into that effort. I can't see how this system could be used for that at all.

It's been like that for a LONG time, that being said, I really don't know how this makes that worse. All I see is a very useful tool. In fact, most of the time you'd be lucky to get your stolen vehicle back, this seems really helpful and it would be nice to see this implemented in more areas.

Are you kidding me?!? You people have to be joking. How does catching criminals using this method mean that we are closer to being wiretapped?

  11. do you smoke bud dude? cuz that makes you a criminal just like us, and the stolen car guy, and the murderer, etc. etc. etc.

people are labelled as "criminals" falsely in my opinion, and this tool will be used against criminals in any way they can. if im driving home and im the only car on the road at 4 AM and the cop sees a weed charge on my rap sheet, you bet your fuckin ass he is gonna pull me over and say he smelled it just to see if he gets lucky. and he will be completely within his authority. and i think that is very wrong.

  12. Yes...but you don't just lump all criminals in one category. Smoking weed /= stealing a vehicle.

As far as being the only car on the road and getting pulled over purely for your record...you do realize that without this system police do this ALL the time, right? Police have access to your record already, this system doesn't change that.

Man, I'm glad I'm not paranoid like so many other weed smokers.

  13. in the eyes of the law a criminal is a criminal man. i take it you have not had much police contact, you should be thankful for that. it only takes one or two slips and then they are watching your ass.

for example, you know how they say that your record before you turn 18 is erased and not accessable after you turn 18? thats false, and they will consider all of your charges if you are ever in trouble with the law again.

im not being paranoid, im watching my ass

  14. If a cop is behind you he can just type in your license plate number and check that shit in three seconds. All this does is let them check it in high traffic areas and keep from getting donut grease all over their computers from pressing buttons.

  15. i wish they had this when my truck got stolen:(. gonna suck if they introduce profiling into this system..

  17. The pot calling the kettle black... no pun intended. :p

It's not whether we're criminals or not. Sure, everyone is a criminal. You roll a stop sign? You're breaking the law, so you're a criminal. Stole candy as a small child because you didn't know any better? Criminal.

It's the SEVERITY of the crime. Rape, murder, theft, etc. should NEVER be put in the same column of criminal activity as smoking marijuana. You know this.

  18. If you look at criminal statistics..crime was less when the authorities were more respectful of peoples privacy and let citizens handle their own shit..

and no shit that smoking weed isnt as severe as raping or killing, but if you get busted with a dime bag in some states, your going to be sharing a cell with said rapist or murderer..

people..take off your rose colored glasses and realize that this is just a quicker and easier way for those in power to stay that way..

its not a matter of being paranoid, just awareness..im aware

just think about it..when you see shit like this happening

Troops Randomly Patrol Streets In Pittsburgh, Respond To “Domestic Disputes”

this is illegal..army troops are not supposed to operate in such a capacity within the continental united states in such a way..thats why they live on bases, and have to be deployed into combat..the noose continues to tighten, until we fucking break away from it..and we will..

we are merely the worker bees for those who profit from our actions..and they want us to remain that way..and those who try to break free from that cycle, are considered criminals, and locked away from the rest of the worker bees..we are quarantined..

  19. Right, it's not the same, no shit. Listen to what I quoted though. He made the connection with criminals that rape, steal, and murder in the same category as cannabis users, which is not right.

  20. Thanks for the neg rep.
