Updated 7/23/2019 Rules: Training, medium/hydro, germination style, light and feed schedule are all up to you. It must be an auto seed started on or after the 22nd and it must be grown in a Solo cup or other 16oz, 470-480ml equivalent cup. Any roots that grow out of the cup and do not air prune, should be trimmed off. Hello everyone! Welcome to the Autoflower Solo Cup Challenge in Association with SB&GA's Myth Busters thread. Here we will be growing autoflowers in Solo cups or equivalent 16oz cup. You can train any way you like, and use any medium. The challenge will begin in two weeks. Seed drop date is Monday the 22nd of July. So far @GrowerAnonymous @fasthonda @Heavn @cshood45 and @JoshuaE have voiced their interest. Anyone else is welcome to join! I'm going to be growing two Expert Seeds Glueberry Autos. One in Solo cup and one in a 1L air-pot. The one in the air-pot is for my own curiosity, not a challenger.
Have any of you ever done a solo cup grow before? I had one a Colorado cookies from Dutch Passion I got 23 grams off it, that was my first and only I'll be trying to improve on that. I think I'm going to grow a 24 carat Mephisto or maybe Speed boom auto from female seeds both are supposed to be very fast. Looking forward to it
Currently finishing one right now in an area the size of a shoe box. I've gotten 10g off a plant before with 23w CFL. This run is using a 15.5w LED mainly and 46w of CFL when I'm home during lights on. I've been slacking on nutes for this one, and was more of an experiment. This was literally from a seed that sprouted in a bag of trim that was ran with dry ice. She is at 6 weeks and expecting to harvest at 9 weeks.
I'm not sure why the pics turned sideways lol. But count me in on the solo cup grow. Thinking about running a 710 Genetics High Priority (Big Bud x Skunk #1 x Uk Cheese elite clone). I won't be using the micro grow box for the challenge though haha
I've participated in one before. I grew a photoperiod bagseed, Fruit of the Gods. I got 19.16g. But I made a couple mistakes I'm correcting for this time. Primarily light hight. I ended up with one nice bud up top with a bunch of little stuff below. I know how to keep them shorter now, so that lower growth will get adequate light.
Wakes up *blink blink* ok challenge accepted! I have done 3 photos in solos in the past. So will be interesting to see the auto. It will be in soil. Pretty sure I'm gonna use the candy Dawgs. I have tell the 22 to change my mind. As a female we all know how that goes . Sent with my new and improved pet rock v7.9
Never lol, but this is a great opportunity to grow alongside some really knowledgeable people and hopefully learn a few things Would love to see that 24 carat
Subbed up and I’ll try to see if I can drop seeds by then not 100% yet Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I’ll probably be running a Barney’s farm skittles auto for the solo cup challenge Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
1 liter air-pot, worst experiment I ever tried. Plant is under stress I am under stress. Now my one gallon fabric bags seem like acres. At any rate, dipping is the way to go.
Should we lay some ground rules for this challenge? Like should we allow periodic root trimming or not?
