Last Saturday I planted indoors auto white cheese in small pots with regular soil and have been watering every day. Just had a look today and they don't seem to be spouting, any ideas if they usually take this long to sprout?
I found that if you keep your seeds snug and near the top of the soil, they germinate a little better. I don’t think that’s the case here though, could be infertile seeds. Just have to wait a little for that taproot. Just had a few beans this season that I lost to growers error that took SO long just to show a cotyledon. Hope yours germinate soon as well brother ! If not, not your mistake brother, could be the breeder or it could just be that batch. Don’t be to hard on yourself, happens to the best of us.
Be careful as to make sure they aren’t already rooted.. don’t want to damage the roots if there are any.. no need to pack your soil super tight either.. they need something to keep them in place but you still want it a little loose so they can push there way through when they sprout. I usually plant them pointed side down since that is where the taproot comes from, but laying it flat works too.
That’s a good start brother. If you plan on transplanting I’d definitely recommended getting mycorrhizae - if you’re not familar it’s a fungus that you can get in liquid ,powder, or granulated and it basically starts a symbiotic relationship with your roots and the fungus as soon as you apply it. Works wonders with helping roots uptake nutrients. No tillers love that stuff around here. Feel free to keep me posted brother! I’ll be around on these threads often my man.
