Auto Bubble & Auto Jack Herer 250w Grow

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by sachidananda, Nov 20, 2012.

  1. Hey guys, it's my first grow in over a year and I'm totally excited! :hello:

I just got in a small loot of seeds from "The Single Seed Centre".

    November 17th-

Placed Auto bubble seed in moist napkin within a ziploc to germinate.

    November 19th-

After researching the costs associated with the use of a 250w HPS, I decide it would be best to grow two plants at once.

Placed Auto Jack Herer seed in moist napkin within a ziploc to germinate.

  2. November 26-

Unfortunately, my Auto Bubble seed didn't germinate. It must have been a dud for whatever reason. Oh well.

My Auto Jack seed germinated about 5 days ago and I've already planted it in a 3 gallon pot.

Today, I also planted a newly germinated Auto Assassin seed in another 3 gallon pot.

    Truly excited!

  3. still goin' strong. will take pictures soon, but right now, they'd be kind of boring.

  5. What size is your tent?

  6. I think it's like 3' wide, 18-20" front to back, and 5' tall. It's been pretty descent so far.

  7. actually, I think it's more like 2' front to back.

  8. what kind of pot/containers are those?

  9. They're from Ikea. I don't think they were originally intended to be pots, but I drilled some holes in the bottom. They kinda look like like devo hats, huh?

  10. Is the material allowing light to pierce the pot and reach the soil? if so, that's really bad for the roots

  11. Wow, I hadn't thought of that! That's a good point. I've had some pretty descent plants in these pots once, before, but what you're saying makes sense. I guess I should coat them in some foil or something.

  12. Finally got my light timer figured out. I've had it for over a year and haven't ever used it, but now I got it goin'. goin' 18/6, hopefully some down time will give my little girls enough sleep to produce some sensuous cola. Also, today, I setup my wet shop vac in the grow room to remove excess water after it drains from pots. I've always wanted to do this, but didn't have a shop vac until about 6 months ago when I had to buy one for a home project. lucky for me and my little girls, because I was getting sick of using a bucket and sponge; time consuming and tedious.

They're really starting to grow now and I'm super fucking excited.

does anybody know whether I should be using my blue hps or orange hps for my autoflowering varieties this early in the game?

  13. ^?

Also, my Auto Jack Herer is already becoming aromatic and hasn't even shown its first pistils yet. It does, however have leaves 'n' shit ALL over. I wonder if the aromatics are kicking in as a result of its first 6 hour period of darkness last night? Possible since I understand that that's when a lot of trichomes become active/do their thing. I think this is part of cellular respiration, something like that. It's the process that's complimentary to photosynthesis.

  14. subbed. Interested to see how they turn out. Im growing an Auto also. (Northern Lights)

  15. Thanks, man, welcome.

  16. Subbed... I have 2 autos going, critical jack & la diva... considering setting up a whole grow of autos.. thing is I know very little about them, any advice?

  17. One thing I've found out is they sure do flower early. Hope they finish strong

  18. If you're good at growing normal cannabis plants, autos should be a cinch.

  19. What do you wish to know?

  20. Ok, guys...

My plants are doing quite well. Thanks to the expertise of a fellow GC member, I have covered my partially translucent pots. I would've just transplanted, but didn't want to fool around with them. Instead, I covered the pots with foil, which was a great idea. It's as if the grow tent is 2x as bright now; fucking awesome. I am, however, regretting my decision to grow my autos in 3 1/2 gallons instead of 5 gallons considering they're autos to begin with. anybody know if they'd get much bigger in 5gals? (not gonna transplant these girls, but I'm asking for now).

It's gettin' stinky up in this biz-itch.
