Auto Bomb in a tent (noob-grow - tips are warmly welcomed)

  1. Well, I've been conservative with nutes, though I have noticed some nute burns now and then. Also, I completely messed up pH for a long time, by lowering the pH in soil that by itself buffers the pH perfectly. But it'll be interesting to see what difference in yield that the 125w difference will have for this plant.
Thanks for the tip. Looking forward to see your journal!

  2. Damn, that #2 got tall :O
About how tall did it get?

  3. Yeah it had a crazy stretch, i think it was just over 1M tall.

  4. They're not even supposed to get that tall!
I'm impressed with how much you got from the 125w light - I've often doubted if I had enough light, even with 250w-300w!

  5. Yeah me to
On my first grow I didn't know about lumens or light coverage just bought a kit and cracked on with it. Went onto a hps bulb after the 125 CFL.

  6. Madcapman,. Congorats!

Just checked in on your grow, sorry I had lost this thread until I was messing with Tapatalk and noticed I had posted.

    Lotsa fun, isn't it?!

  7. Originally, I wanted to use LED. But since the bulbs alone would've doubled the total amount I spent on grow equipment and seeds, I decided against it. I'm pleased with my 300w/250w bulbs - they support my two very bushy plants well, I think. And the low heat is a win too. But I know they can't beat HPS when it comes to light penetration.

    Hehe, thanks :D
Yeah, I love growing! I learn so much. And not only about weed plants; I was able to manage the pH of our raspberry bush well (it requires a pH of around 5), so it gave us lots of big, tasty berries - much better yield than last year!

    Leslie

She's grown taller than Rosemary! And she was getting too close to the light, so I tried bending the main cola down, LST style. I bended too much, and the stem snapped on the inside, HST style! Yikes! I feared the worst, and moved the hook I used for bending to support her from below, instead. Luckily, she keeps growing without any problems!

Not much new here, except for bigger buds than in my last post. Which is good, of course. I know the top leaves look yellow, but that's only because I have a bad camera; they're actually perfectly green. Although, it IS a bit yellow on the tips along the edges - don't know what it means, or if I should be concerned.

I think this is my best close up yet - you can see the trichomes and everything!

  10. Thanks! Yeah, I'm quite nerdy and I love to flesh out all the details. If only I had more time, I'd have made it even more detailed :p
But when I write the entries, I keep myself in mind - that is, myself from the time before I started growing. Back then, I tried finding info about this strain, what I could expect in terms of growth, and so on, but couldn't really find anything. And then there's the plain fact that it's a delight to take pictures, when you have such beautiful models :)

  11. Day 59
I woke up today and noticed that the top leaves on Rosemary started to turn yellow between the veins (I tried taking a picture, but my camera is so bad, that it looks perfectly healthy). I identified it as zinc deficiency, and watered with plain, pH'ed water - let's see how this plays out.

  13. Thanks! :)

I'm hoping for as long as possible, so Leslie can catch up. And to my delight, Rosemary is still more than 90% white pistils :hello:

The yellowing leaves haven't changed, though. I was able to get a decent picture of it today:

My camera still doesn't capture it properly - the yellowing between the veins are more apparent to the naked eye. And these are the topmost fan leaves. It hasn't worsened since I watered with pH water. But it also haven't improved. Dunno if it's a problem, or if it's normal.
Also, all the top leaves on these plants look more like sativa leaves than indica leaves to me (less wide leaf petals) - don't know if that's good or bad :O

  14. Would be good to get pics under natural light. Mine looks like they always have issues, but its not until you take 'em out the light you realise they're OK.

Sorry, it took a while to get a good photo opportunity. But OP delivers:

    Full plant
    [IMG]

    Yellowing veins
    [IMG]

This is one of the topmost fan leaves

    Spots
    [IMG]

Not one of the topmost leaves, but definitely above the middle

    Withered leaves
    [IMG]

    About halfway to the top

These are all pictures of Rosemary, au naturale. It's true that natural light makes symptoms look much less serious. But I'm still curious if she's doing all right.

And those who's read this journal will know, that I simply can't end a photo shoot without porn:

It's a bit blurry today, sorry..

  16. I don't have molasses, but I just read about it, and I'm definitely getting some - it looks really beneficial!

And magnesium deficiency looks spot on, except for the fact that it's the upper leaves ONLY - the bottom leaves look just fine. As I understand it, the plant would take magnesium from the bottom leaves and transfer it to the top leaves, so only the bottom leaves would be affected.

Also, I forgot to mention, none of these problems have worsened (at least noticeably) lately, though, they haven't gotten any better either.
