Auto and photo together

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by Patricia Clemons, Feb 17, 2019.

  1. Hello everybody, i have just been doing some thinking, Has anybody ever grown an auto in the same tent as a photo.
Initially i was thinking plop and train a couple photo’s in the center and for fun throw an auto in the corner, then it dawned how would the 12/12 affect the auto if its halfway thru flower?

Or if starting the photos a couple weeks after the auto, although then the auto would be fully grown under an MH bulb, vs hps at photo flip.

Or perhaps it was merely a thought and not one to be put in action =D

  2. I’ve done what you’re saying it and greatly affects bud size flipping to 12/12. Run your auto 24/0 while your photos veg 24/0

  3. When the auto finishes then flip to flower. 2-3 months of vegging photos will give you monsters.

  4. I know people run them together all the time. I am pretty sure you want more light than 12/12 to give auto max benefit, but anyways here is my pla I am going to run five bag seeds and 5-6 autos I will run on 18-6 until autos finish then flip to 12/12 to get the regular harvest.

  5. I run autos while im vegging photos. If I'm running auto/photo, I leave lights on a 20/4 schedule. Unless it winter. Then I run 24 on. It's cheaper for me to run the lights for 24 hrs than it is for the heater to run during lights off. However, throwing autos in a 12/12 schedule can reduce yield. From my experience and research, autos usually yield most on a 20/4 lighting schedule.

  6. I do it all the time I do a lot of flowering outside here in Cali so I will always fire up a grow with autos if it's my first grow for the season. Obviously if you don't have that option I guess you could pull the photos out of the tent for the extra 8 hours of light you're going to give them autoflowers. Although I have proved last season that autoflowers in 10 hours of good sunlight like here in the California desert does just as well as 18 or 20 inside with lights. Once again you can never beat the Sun

  7. Hey can I take the photos out from under the 315 lec and put it under crappy like minimal CFL to keep it alive until autos are done and then I can put them back in the tent to flower?

  8. Yeah how I used to do that before I ever had grow lights we would grow photos outside and in the winter they would get about a foot tall maximum and start flowering so then we got the grand idea to bring them in the laundry room and put them under the fluorescence to keep them from flowering in the end up going okay never flowered so yeah you can do that

  9. Does realize they're not going to be the beauties that they would have been grown through but it should work out

  12. Ideally you have two tents. You veg photo until there will be no room for them in flower tent and then you fill in with autos. If it's a one tent operation best yield is still veg photo flip. But stagger that one tent with 24/0 autos and harvest one plant as often as you plant one seed. Like all the time, But it's only one plant so stop complaining. (I like planting a lot more than harvesting.)
