Hello, this is my first grow and I chose the White widows xxl from Dinafem. These girls are 21 days old (starting day 1 when they poked out of the soil). The medium is a mix of peat moss based with coco, a little perlite and worm castings. They are under this 600w led light (Non-adjustable) and it’s about 22-23” away from the plants. The rh is always around 45-55% and temps between 23-28 degrees C. The thing is that they are growing very slow in my opinion, I’ve seen a lot of other plants the same age but triple sized, why do you think they are growing so slow? Idk what to do, did I buy old or bad seeds? Also I tried giving them nutrients
Yes they're definitely behind schedule, can you put up a full colour photo? Everything is just different shades of purple. It's either going to be a nutrient issue or soil moisture issue, I suspect the latter but need a proper photo to be sure
As it's peat and coco mix you'll have to add nutrients from an early age, but as far as nutes go it looks in good shape. It's a very big pot to start a plant in, are you allowing the soil to dry out well? Sometimes I can start 6 plants and one or two will be far behind the others even with the exact same conditions. Maybe you just have a few of those kinda plants. How many do you have? You may find growth suddenly speeds up from now on, because the first 3 weeks is usually the slowest Edit... It's not far behind normal, it's not something that would worry me at this stage
I think its either the rh that sometimes at night gets down to around 38-40%, or its the light, maybe its always been too close to the plants (because they’ve been under that 600w light since they were born).
Yes, indeed today I noticed the plants started turning an over all darker green color and the branches start to grow further out, but now that you ask, no I don’t think I’ve ever let the soil dry completely to the bottom.
The humidity is perfectly fine and the light isn't harming it. Does the light actually use 600w? Or is it one of those 80w lights but the manufacturer cooks the figures? Neither are harming it at this stage though, it looks very healthy, if I had to point something out I'd say it looks like it's not receiving much light. It reminds me of a flourescent lit plant, it has the thin and delicate looking leaves from low intensity light. At this size they don't need a lot of light anyway so this shouldn't concern you too much
No, I do know it’s a powerful light because once I tried putting it closer and started burning the tips e en of the bigger plant in the picture. Also all the leaves of the plants were pointing violently up
Oh ok, I would have guessed it was much lower than 250w. If its drawing that much it should be giving off plenty of light
Well they say it pulls 250 from the wall, its only around 12x8” though so Im not sure what to think, but it started burning my big plant so its pretty powerful I guess
I bought one of these ... They aren't a necessity, but it's handy to know what power your lights actually are, and it didn't cost much That reading was from this light .................................... The thing is that these are autos so Im afraid of them starting to enter preflower at this size and end up with 5g of bud
Looking back at the photo again, it's not really far behind, it's pretty much average really. They carry on growing quite a lot after you first see pistils. It looks in good health, I wouldn't worry. If you want to add more yield, add more light. It looks like you have everything else under control ....................................
