Thank you. Yeah it's been crazy. I'm in a safe NSW location, though outside my city (they call it a city...it's really a council/town) there's lots of trees in every direction. I haven't seen any fires, but they are CLOSE....the rural fire brigade which are volunteers that have been combating the vast majority of the fires have lost a few people to the fires so far...lots of rural properties, one whole country town I believe got wiped out...a hippy commune I used to do business with in the mountains up north got wiped out with two of their founders killed...so many animals are dead or displaced, koalas are being called functionally extinct now...one apple orchard/cider company that I really love came SO close to getting taken out, we've checked and thankfully thry're alright for now. Most of what we've had to deal with here where I'm at, is a lot of very thick smoke and really hot, dry temperatures. Gives me a headache. We did what we could though, spent a few hundred at Costco on water, Powerade and consumable/food supplies for the RFS, but yeah they got majorly fucked by budget cuts that happened just last year...ridiculous...there'll be more in payouts than the cuts would have ever been worth. In the meantime we have a dickhead prime minister who thought it was a good occasion to pop off to a family trip to Hawaii, rather than to at least...be present for solidarity sake...he got cussed out and crawled back though. It's sad to see. People are just broken...having lost everything...a lot of those are rural firefighters too, they go out, spend 48 hours fighting to come home to well...nothing. There's literally animals that rarely interact with humans asking for help/water. Lot of farmers getting fucked. SO many trees gone. Ugh. Hopefully 2020 will be a good recovery year.
