Asthma

Discussion in 'Smoking Accessories Q&A' started by REH1, Sep 24, 2009.

  1. Chronic asthmatic..had it all my life. Only thing good about it, during the Nam war I was classified (if I remember) 3Y...my doc sent a note to the draftboard about my weekly shots, etc. So during the first year of the draft, I was exempted. Good thing, my birthdate hit number 11 on the drawing.

Anyway I have a little old (bought it in Salina Ks, back in the early 70s) glass water bong, one hitter. Its just awkward to use. And I would like to get something else.

Any suggestions of what to get? Money isn't to much of an issue...seen vaporizers on this site...water bongs. A little leary about using glass. I'd want something that is easy to setup and creats a smoke easy on the lungs.

    thank youall :)

  2. If money is no issue i strongly suggest a vaporizer. Much much much better on the lungs, its recommended for medical marijuana patients with asthma. The ones on this stie arent too good however.

I have a Da Buddha vaporizer, which was around $180, or you can look up the Vapor Brothers set, a pretty popular choice. Or if you want to get the cadillac of vaporizers invest in a Volcano($500-600)

    Hope that helps

  3. I suggest that you get a vaporizer as well. I, too, have the Da Buddha Vape. Wise decision on my part. If you want to purchase one, head to VapeWorld.com, and enter in 10-off-09 in the coupon code box. Good Luck, and let us know what it is that you decide upon.:hello:

  4. Vapo . . . i have a Vapolution, very different from the "bag kind", it's glass on glass, gotta roll your "moist" weed up in little pellets (rat poop size) and put it in the end of the glass "hitter", then put it in the base, heat it and then slowly toke right outta the glass "pipe" . . . hella smooth, great when I have a cough or cold but I don't use it all the time, love my bong with ice, it's nice n easy on the lungs. I have allergy induce asthma from about 5 years ago, it comes and goes with allergies . . .

  5. Thanks All....a vaporizor of some kind it will be..let you know what I get.:D

  6. My buddy has a Volcano and I fucking love that thing.

Not only is the vapor way smoother than smoke but it get's you more high from less weed.

  7. Da Budda it is! On sale..plus shipping, 168$ :hello:

  8. Volcano Vap= pure win.

As someone with mild asthma, sometimes smoking can irritate my lungs. Sometimes I vap, but I also like the experience of smoking.

To do with it I just take much smaller hits, take them less deep, and hold them shorter. Sometimes among smokers there is an expectation of always trying to take monster hits, but fuck that. I take my smaller hits and am just as happy.

Bongs are very useful for such an approach, since you can fill the bong and clear it a bit at a time.

It might seem sort of obvious, but smoking killer green helps too. Less hits needed to get wherever you want to be. I mostly work from home and like to be just a little elevated throughout the day, so taking just a few puffs of some high grade stuff really does the trick.

  9. Absolutely, the stronger the less smoke. Too, I've learned to get away from that habit of trying to act like a hoover..:p

I feel for ya man...Take (3) differnent inhalers. Proair (quick relief)..servent (for 5 - 10 hour relief, for say a joggin or biking event) and flovent (strong strong steroid). In good shape now, although this time of year, with my home sitting in a 10 acre pasture I can get kinda wheezy. I love to do design work stoned. Don't worry though, the checkers go through all my stuff before they release it. Aircraft and all is pretty picky that way.

Gonna check out the site on medical marijuana...have no clue how that works in Kansas where men are men and the sheep are nervous. ;)

  10. Oh BTW, Claritin D 24 hour is a fucking must if you have allergy triggered asthma (like smoke irritation). Such an amazing drug, changed my life.
