Asthma Specific Strain

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by Mirvs, Oct 2, 2010.

  1. Marijuana stops my asthma before it starts, plain and simple.

I haven't been able to find anything strain specific with regards to asthma, aside from THC Bomb. But I am curious if anyone else with Asthma has found a strain that works exceptionally well for Asthma?

  2. I have also found that a couple of light hits really open up my airways as well. I dont really get specific strains so i cant help on that.
But your not alone on the benefits that you recieve from the wonderful herb

  3. Try Durban Poison out of the vape.... It feels great on the throat and always helps me with colds.

  4. Agreed. A strong Sativa helps me out quite a bit.

  5. I've had Asthma my whole life and long before MJ became legal for medical reasons(at least in my state) , I've had a Dr, that strongly believed that Pot has a definate benifit for asthma sufferers. Theres a University Study that was done in Israel, proof positive, they were using strong hash, which i don't have access to. But i find that if i use a vap a few puffs opens my lungs completely. i don't have the link for the study, but am trying to find it,

  6. This and the vape comment. This is absolutely what I do, shallow hits at first on a vape then after I cough up all the mucus from the bronchial dilation I start on bigger hits.

I have to admit, when I first started smoking I thought it was placebo or I was just high. But there is a serious physical difference, I used to be a runner then after adult onset asthma I was no longer a runner. Now, after weed, I'm a runner again.

    Ty all.

  7. I thought the same way untill i read the studies done by that Israeli doctor mentioned in another post. I was honestly amazed that inhaling smoke(dont own a decent vape) could help me to breathe better. It seemed to go against anything i had ever read or heard or learned about western medicine and phsyiology but its becoming increasingly difficult to ignore all the medicinal benefits of (quality) marijuana

  8. If you find it, could you post the link up here? Sounds like an interesting read.

  10. saw this thread... don't have asthma, thankfully --- but regarding vapes --- is there any way to capture vapors and condense them into liquid form?

I like the idea of the vape and its' minimal smell, but you're still inhaling at a temperature higher than that which your lungs were intended...

I've made a few batches of green dragon with mixed success... a couple were duds and the last two were cerebral -- very intense thought processes, internal reflection -- nice sativas... (finely chopped bud on tin foil for 5 and half to 6 min at 325 --- 5 minutes never really worked).

Don't mind the alcohol taste when making dragon (I use 93% lemon extract) -- but..

Any way -- looking to see if anyone has condensed vape into liquid form?

I'm in NC, but if you're in California, you damn well better vote yes on Prop 19!!

  11. I recently moved from South Carolina to Oregon. Freedom:hello:

Distilling out the essential oil of cannabis results in Rick Simpson oil:)

If you're concerned about the temp of your vape, a bag type vape allows for very cool (room temp) vapor. The most popular bag type vape is the Volcano, but there are others. You can also attach many popular vape units to a water pipe/bong, which also cools the vapor.

  12. Awesome information, and yeah I dig Gran's thread.

I own a Vapir One and can't complain. I've noticed I have to turn the heat up about 15 - 20 degrees over the recommende (390ish) as the fan filling the bag tends to cool it about that much.

I highly advise letting a new vaporizer run for 30 minutes on high to cook out packing oils =P This I learned the hard way (bleck).

Also, I've been giving rep to everyone who replied, I have to wait 24 hours but I'll tag the rest of yahs =)
