Hey folks, first time growing, done everything possible to grow correct, I’m struggling to identify my plants as male and females, see attached . Appreciate any assistance, about ready to hurl the lot into the reserve behind my place .. cheers folks
Have you switched to 12/12 yet? Took like 4-5 days after the switch to start finding pistils on my plants. You're not really gonna see much in veg...tiny pre-flowers that could usually go either way. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Hi there, I’ve been running 18 and 6. For approx 5 weeks indoor. I’ve put the plants outside now as the space was too cramped. I’ve seperated the plants outside, how far can the male spread his germs ??? hitting mid summer here so 12 and 12 should be ok. Medium is coco, coir, peat, and vermiculite with worm pee and root blast . Babied them checking ph and moisturiser. They struggled at first but the last week they have gone nuts.. should I return indoors and reduce light timing ??
If you want them to flower, yes, you'll need to give them at least 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness. It's up to you how big you let them get before doing that. They grow like crazy the first few weeks of flower, so be careful not to wait too long if you're finishing them indoors. You don't need to be worried about pollination until after you switch. Check them every day for pistils/pollen sacks once you switch. You should have plenty of time to pull males before they're putting out pollen. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
I would say that after 5 weeks, if you haven't seen any little balls, you're probably in the clear. I get male preflowers at week 3/4 in veg. Once they start to show sex you're looking for tear drop shaped flowers for fems, and spade shaped for males (think deck of cards spade). Cheers
You get a microscope you can tell the sex. At this stage that's probably the only way to tell. Pointed = female, round = male. Mine's 5 months, about ready to start the transition to flower, and I'm just starting to be able to even see them without a microscope, still almost impossible to tell because they're tiny.
Are these plants too early to for flowering ? I’ve had them 18-6 approx 7 weeks. Slow at first but they seem to be growing pretty fast now They look healthy, no yellowing etc.. I was given a clone plant last week, it had been cut and put in a small pot. It died in 2 days I’m Gutted.
Yes too early what you are seeing at the meeting point of your stem is just the branch that will grow from there. Only true way to tell is cut a clone and put it under 12/12
