  1. What's up guys? I personally find it fascinating to know which music artists enjoyed life in the same area that I do. I'd also find it cool to hear about which musicians you share a city or state with. Anybody down?

  2. I live in a small city in northwest ohio called maumee. Here is a mind who actually started having mild success before breaking up. They played on the first White Stripes album and had close ties with Jack White.

    Here is the White Stripes playing a soledad brothers song and he even mentions them, or as he said Henry and June which was the band before they became the soledad brothers and he says toledo which is was maumee is the suburb of.

    Sugar never tasted so good is also a soledad brother cover that is on the first white stripes album. Cool stuff that someone who went to my high school played a role like that in bringing the blues back into popular music.
     
  3. I'm near DC and some of my favorite bands have came from here. Minor Threat, Rites Of Spring, Embrace, Fugazi, One Last Wish, Happy Go Licky, Jawbox, Government Issue, Bad Brains...
     
  4. Its odd how many great artists come out of poverty stricken cities. New Orleans, D.C. and the closest major city to me Detroit. Actually its not odd at all, it makes perfect sense!

    but i live right by the hotel where the bassist died, and took lessons where alot of their band members went.

    They're one fucking sick band. Their single "Vengeance" gets me ready to kick ass any day of the week lol

  15. I believe, that if you are from the same place as Slipknot. You could consider Stone Sour as well. It's the same lead singer. Not the same, but it's still the same.
