Arjan's Thai-Tanic.

Discussion in 'Marijuana Seeds Banks' started by poppybgood, Sep 1, 2011.

  1. Apologies if this is the wrong place for this post. I know a person who says they have these genetics, and they are really solid outdoors. After watching this video

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGOxvg_VOz0]Green House Arjan's Thai-Tanic Grow with Russian Subtitles - YouTube[/ame]

    there is something giving me a lot of skepticism about Arjan and Franco and their claims, although it doesn't have anything to do with the genetics. This is an amazing sativa for a indoor grow no doubt. He states the height a 4 meters, and at the end of the vid he says they grew it under a single lamp. WTF kind of lamps do they use? 3000 watters? Sorry, but I just don't believe you could get that kind of production on the lower parts of the plant with a 1000 watt lamp. You're talking 10 feet away from the lower branches. Unless the don't specify that this is a single plant they are documenting in a room of 1000 watt lamps I call major bullshit.

  2. I am skeptical of all breeders claims. It doesn't matter if it is Arjan and Franco, Rezdog, Shantibaba or the dude around the corner. They are all in it for a buck.

    I'm not saying you can't get qualtiy meds from anyone of them, I'm just saying everyone of them inflate their claims.

    Environment and other varibles have just as much of factor in success and failure as do genetics. Unless you can recreate the exact conditions and have they same exact cuts as they do, you're only looking for a roundabout idea of what the final meds can be from the beans you get from them.

  3. I can agree wit that. But if you listen to their claim at the end it sounds like he's giving the impression that a 13ft+ plant will give that kind of yield under a single lamp. I would have liked for the camera to pan around the ceiling in that facility how many other lamps are running .

  4. It's just another wild false claim by a breeder to sell their product. You can tell at 4:11 in the video that there is 2 cooltubes with batwings over it.

    Claims of yield, THC/CBD/CBN, and length of flower are the most inflated, or understated(length of flower) info you can find out there. And virtually every breeder does it. Strain lineage is the most important factor and all the rest of the claims can be thrown out.

  5. HA!! I missed that at 4.11.

  6. first hint. Arjan and Franco do not breed ..they just S1

    besides, most of their plants cannot make it 6 weeks without tossing stamens .. I don't even want to know what kind of "banana tree" that 16 week flower would be.

    No kidding. I think the plants Shanti left behind for them are starting to degrade. There was a time when you could get decent plants from their stock, but that was before all this color-coded nonsense. I remember seeing a grow journal of a plant from them that had a flat main stem. The guy grew it out anyway just to see if he could. Thing looked like a stalk of celery with popcorn buds on it.

  8. :D From what I've heard about Thai plants in general is most of them go hermie. Here that variety would be a 9 month grow outdoors, and I would be totally pissed if 90% of them started slinging bananas in week 20 of flowering LOL!!!

  9. Greenhouse and Barney's have the Cannabis Cup rigged in their favor (see my sig) so I wouldn't trust them with anything.

  10. I've 'met'(read avoided as much as possible:rolleyes:) Arjan on several occasions and wouldn't want to put a single cent of my money in his pocket.
    But that's just a personal thing of course...

    King of cannabis...roflol
