Are you a burnout?

Discussion in 'Real Life Stories' started by MN4Lyfe, Mar 13, 2016.

  1. Hey guys, so I was thinking about 2 friends I have who waste all their money on drugs and have no plan for their future. One lives with the other one and sleeps in the same room( on the floor) in his parents house. So it got me thinking are you or anyone you know a burnout?

  2. Used to be. Spent a month under a bridge on some shit that made it feel like only 3-4 days went by, after that i was like this shit is crazy and got it together.

Made some good friends while i was doing it tho.. lol.

  3. I'm not a burnout, I'm more like the guy who's just gotten the kindling to catch.

  4. There are degrees of burn out I reckon lol, there are people that have been smoking so long that they appear very distant and spaced out, but they don't waste their money on drugs. They have good jobs, nothing to worry about and so they don't care how crispy or burn out they look lol idk....I'm just entertaining your idea.

  9. I just graduated from my local CC with honors while at a great job I worked for two years before moving cross country for university, so in that regard, no. I'm not a burnout. I definitely spend too much money on weed, though...

  10. I like that response, man. I'll take that as my answer.

In other words @ OP- No, I'm not, and I can't really say I know any, either. I've actually come to despise the stereotype over time. Especially being a male with long hair, that alone can make that shit your immediate tag when people see you. The automatic assumption that I smoke weed, I can handle. The assumption that it is to all negative and sinister implications and endings, not so much.

  11. Nooooooooope. There was a time that I loved spending all of my time and money on unmentionables, but you know man, there comes a point where you want to have something to show for all of the time that you've put into earning what you earn. They make for fun, but they don't show shit.

  15. Yes.
I'm going to die by my own hand some day. Made peace with that big long ago. Just going through the motions for the time being.

  16. Nope, I've always saved some money for my future.

I do have a few older friends that constantly smoke, before during and after work and basically every waking hour.
Dude is 40, yet always used to call me asking to borrow money. I had to disappear...

Now I only make friends with stoners that got their shit together.
