    Hey guys,

I've been growing these girls in my closet, and I was wondering how much longer people think they have to go. I tossed a piece under a 60-100x magnifying glass that I got from radioshack and managed to get some pictures for everyone to look at. The one thing I am worried about is, all of the hairs on my buds are still white (with a few exceptions) but the trichs look very mature. Let me know what you guys think, and if I am a complete idiot for thinking that my trichs look almost done.

My main question is, how long til harvest, and should I start to flush yet?

    Details:
    Strain: Blackberry Kush
    Water: Brita filtered
    Medium: FFoF
Nutes: Botanicare pure blend (bloom and veg) + Molasses
    Age: 5.5 weeks from 12/12
    Lights: 6x23w 2700k CFL

    Attached Files:

  2. looking good to me... What strain are you growing? If it is an indica then I would let a little more of my trichs get amber, to enhance that body stone that much more.

  3. Forgot to post pictures of the bud this was clipped from. Here ya'll go.

  4. Yes, it is an indica (Blackberry kush) - first post has now been edited to include this

they deff. need 2 or 3 more weeks man..possibly even longer...positive on that. Some of the shortest flowering strains out there take 45-50 days minimum. Wait until the hairs start turning orange, and the calyxes will swell, all of those white hairs deffidently mean its still going strong!

i miss growin so much, gonna try an outdoor from seed this year...use the sun for everythin! In the past ive used strictly clones, cant this year due to security reasons

  6. agree with coool, needs more time, those pistils will almost all be brown at harvest. 3 weeks probably be perfect

  7. Yeah, I wasn't planning on chopping for at least 2 weeks (since I haven't started my flush yet). I have also noticed that my trich's look more red than amber, is this just something to do with the strain?

  8. Hello, you have a while until your plants are done brother, I would let go until they have about 60%-70% amber trichs since she is a indica dominant strain. This way she will lock your ass to that fucking couch and you will wake up wondering what the hell happen :D, this is what I do at least. Your trich's have kinda a redish/purpleish color to them probably because of the back lighting when the picture was taken. But how badass would that be if it were genetic:eek::D:eek::D. Hope this helped, later dude.:smoke:

  9. This actually is genetic I believe. My plants are starting to purple a bit, and the weird thing is, the first thing to purple were the trichs. I always magnify against a white background so as to not have to deal with weird back lighting or anything. You can actually tell that the trichs are a reddish color without even using a magnifying glass.

  10. Dude if thats true man....:eek::eek::eek:OMG:eek::eek::eek::eek:, I have never heard of trich's turning purple in color. I know that if they are clear and the plant is starting to turn purple then there will be a purple tone to them because of the purple tint on the leaves but if your right then holly cow brother. Where did you get the strain?:smoke:

I got it as a clone from a dispensary in Marina Del Rey called Organica LA. As far as clones go, I'm not sure if I would go anywhere else, just due to the fact that all of their clones looked extremely healthy, and they were reasonably priced ($10)*.

Do you have any idea what could be causing this? My stems are red, and my sugar leaves are starting to purple a bit, and I am almost positive this is not due to a phosphorous deficiency (I am using bloom nutes with plenty of the stuff).

Also, I will see if I can get a picture that really shows off the red trichs by either tomorrow or Wednesday night.

*I do not work for or with this dispensary in any way, I was just very happy with their clones.

EDIT: Immediately after posting this I decided to check up on the organica website, and it seems that they have gone out of business.

  12. Man I wish I could tell you but I dont know enough about the strain to give advise about its growth characteristics. Man that sucks that place went out of business. I will be looking foward to those pics of her by wednsday. I might have to purchase some blackberry. Oh man did you clone her at all:eek::eek::eek:?

I thought long and hard about cloning her, but finally came to the decision that it would not be a good idea. I have very little grow space (only enough for 2-3 plants) and I don't want to construct something new, due to the fact that I will be moving in May... I'm really bummed that place closed down, but maybe this will give me enough reason to grow from seed next time, which is something I have been wanting to try for a while

  14. Dude honestly, I love growing from clone and hate seed. With clone you know what your getting, you know what it produces, you know her traits and its nice not to be let down after3-4 months of growing:D. All you gotta do next time is clone the shit out of her or try to make femmed seeds.:smoke:

  15. Yeah, you are definitely right, but there are a lot more options when it comes to seeds, since you are limited in availability when it comes to clones (at least I have trouble finding a lot of variety). Next time I do a grow (which will either be this summer or next fall) I will definitely build myself a nice cloning machine and take an assload of clones so that I can get a nice, predictable, and delicious grow going. Are you currently working on a grow?

  16. Yeah man I just got all of my stuff in about 4 days ago. I just ordered $1600 worth of equipment because I sold my old setup to my friend in New Mexico. But going to be growing a strain that I am very familiar with and have experience with her so I am really excited. I cant start my grow until April because I am moving to Colorado. But I will be posting the grow on these forums so I will keep you posted. I will be growing some Black Queen from highgrade-seeds.com, she is an Indica Powerhouse, one hit wonder girl that I am proud to own. I am growing her over my AK47, over my Hindu Kush, and over my Durban Poison. The Black Queen is the strongest strain I own.

I have an old grow on here you can see, its soil grow but its still an ok grow. Its not my Black Queen but its was Black Pearl a sativa dom. strain from highgrade-seeds.com. She was great. Its tittled NYSD grow journal (black pearl) just look at the threads Ive started.:smoke:

  17. Ah, where are you moving from, if you don't mind me asking?

  18. LOL no problem bro, I am moving to the Boulder, CO area in April. I have been just selling to people who sell to clinics but I am wanting to go legit so I gotta move where its legal ya know.:smoke:

Now I just wish I lived up in Boulder so I could try some of this Black Queen you've been raving about, haha.

OH, and by the way. You know how I said I would get you those pictures? I feel really bad about this, but thats just not gonna happen. I went into my enclosure with my state of the art camera (Read: Camera Phone) and I just wasn't able to capture the color. I'm hoping that maybe you'll be able to see it better once I've dried and cured everything, but thats still a couple weeks off. If you want you can come swing by my place and check it out yourself :p but I have a feeling that you may be a little to busy to come out to California just so you can look at some red trichomes.

  20. LOL, thanks for the invite brother, and dont worry about the pics man, I know how frustrating it is when you cant get the pics to look as good as your actual plants man. Plus I believe you about the trich's man, with all of the cross breeding going on now-a-days you never know what your going to see next. Anyways, keep me posted on your plants man, let me know if I can help in any way brother, Later brother:D:smoke:
