Are there plants that keep animals and bugs away?

  1. im planning on growing outside the only problem is the bugs and animals always get to them and chew up the stems. What plants could i grow near it so no animal would want near it that would also hide the marijuana plant? I know its late to start but i had them sprout and survive for few weeks in winter before the bugs got to them and i wanted to have them grow during spring then have them huge by next harvest. I might as well since i get seeds and they basically useless since i dont deal or plant them indoors because of the cost of bill.

  2. I heard brown eyed susan tea works to keep deer and other wildlife from chewing your plant. They dont like the bitter taste. Never tried it but i heard it from a reliable guy. Just have to apply it every time it rains. Theres all kinds of organic pesticides that work n u can get those at walmart, lowes, etc. as far as trying to hide your plants i wouldnt try to put stuff that looks like mj around it. Just my personal preference. Pine trees are good cuz they stay green all year but dont plant directly under it cuz those needles that fall off are acidic. Edges of tree lines, valley bottoms, and fence lines are what i use.

  3. okay thanks where i get the susan tea seeds at?

  4. Marigolds are animal resistant, they don't like the smell of them.

  5. Just google how to make brown eyed susan tea and you can find recipes. Marigolds keep bugs away but not wildlife.

  6. k thanks ill get some marigolds and that tea too

  7. so i pour that on my leafs?

  8. Yea put it in a spray bottle and mist it

  9. marigold and the susan vine are good ones! I haven't seen those around. actually saw marigolds at the grocery store yesterday the multi color ones. also look for stinging nettle, lavenders, rosemary, any mints, even comfrey has been shown to deter pests although the insect (aphids, etc.) can come in on the leaf if it is used as a top dressing instead of a soak. I haven't entirely figured this part out but I am thinking plant soaks are the way to go (to spray the plants on cannabis if it doesn't happen to be growing right next to the cannabis). I started a thread about this in the sick plant and problem section... I dilute 1-20 plant-water before watering my weeds

  10. i know mints are good for smell and thanks for info , thats alot of good info.

  11. kk ty

  12. what i do is take a bar of that irish spring soap, cut it into fours and wrap it in a really thing cloth and hang them from close by trees or bushes, deer cant stand em
