Are my plants growing fast enough??

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by psycicmind, Oct 7, 2012.

  1. My plant is at six weeks. I put up pictures of it for each week. How is it doing?

I'm mostly focusing on week 6. Should it be bigger?

Didn't have any big pots so I'm growing them in washed out milk jugs :hello:

the last two are week 6 from seed

  3. No, they are nor growing fast enuff... mine were that big at 2 weeks.... what kind of light you got there?? Im goin out on a limb here but im gonna say you got the wrong light partner...

  4. cfls. 14 watt(60 watt). I was gonna get better cfls soon though.

  5. Ya, i would definitely change that.... you should be using the 5000k cfls, i would say at the absolute minimum 23 watters, but i would shoot for a little bigger than thqt even... just one plant you should be able to get away with 2 for now....at 6 weeks that thing should be a monster... but it looks healthy otherwise... when your ready to bud, switch em out with 2700k... and you wanna get them babys nice and close... like a few inches nice and close.... give her some love and shell love you back

I just hope it's only the light that needs fixing. Oh and the 5000k is full spectrum. Can I use it for flowering as well?

  7. Yessir - if you want to harvest a shy Eighth off of your plants.

Plants need light - and lots of it. If you're going to play the game, take the risk and put in the time, get yourself a real light system.

    Just my .02c.

  8. It seems like you didn't put any money into this project. Looks like you're growing in dirt because there's some other plants growing.

There's a difference between dirt and soil, and that looks like dirt. Do some research, spend some money, grow some pot. If you're not willing to put any money into this, you won't get shit out of it.

I suppose you aren't testing PH of your feed solution either? Are you using nutrients?

  9. I'm on disability so I make due with what I can get.

  10. Even on a budget grow you gotta get some essentials. Even if you flowered now ud be lucky to get 2g with it being that size and the lighting you got.
Not knocking you man, Just being straight with ya.
Oh and that CFL you could have near enough touching the plant but just not.

  11. I went to home depot, walmart and ace hardware and NONE of them had cfl's (or other lights for that matter) that were daylight(5000k) 150 watt cfl's. I shit you not. They only had 150 watt soft white (2700k) cfl's.
I was so bummed out. I don't know if I'll be able to get the right lights anywhere.

  12. For veg the 2700k are not perfect but it would be loads better than what you got now and you can use ur small light with it to give a better spectrum range.
When it comes to flower you will have the right bulb already and you can get a blue CFL off ebay.
If it was me id get the light you saw and put it on with ur small light. Then order a blue CFL and put that in with the other 2 lights when it arrives.

order yourself one of these 250 250W WATT FLUORESCENT GROW LIGHT 6500K CFL NEW USA | eBay they are diffrent brands and diffrent supplyers but one of those along with some sidelighting should be nice for 3-4 1.5 ft plants. if you put them in a diamond shape and arrange them around the light itself. other option is to make some form of ghetto reflector and have 4 plants under it but bear in mind you want this really close to the light. one of those lights gives off 19k lumens and if it is 1 feet away its energy output is halfed. one plant requires 5k lumens roughly. good luck

  14. @K1XXX
its outside soil with small layers of miracle grow at certain spots. I've actually done worse than this. This is my third grow. The first two grows died after 1.5 weeks because of the miracle grow. They didn't have fox farms at my home depot either, I only saw stuff similar to miracle gro. The only soil I can get a hold of that doesn't kill my plants at birth is outside soil.

  15. just read your on disibility , my bad by all means use what works and hopefully you'll get to harvest this plant
    peacee
    k1-

  16. don't worry about it.

I'm just hoping if the dirt's good enough for a 100 ft tall tree that it's good enough for a 2-3 foot plant.:smoke:

Unfortunately they don't have compassion grow organizations here in Maryland. I heard they have something like that in Cali though.

  17. Not trying to make you feel bad but k1xxx is right your better off paying to get weed youll spend less money and have better bud then you can grow.

  18. Well I'm still getting the hang of this sort of thing. And in time I'll be able to get adequate supplies. But it will take awhile....just takes practice.
By the way Do plant's absorb vitamins?
What if I got a multivitamin/supplement with nitrogen and stuff like that and put it into water. Would that work? Is it cheaper to just buy plant nutes?
If not how much are they approximately?
