Are my plants dying?!

Discussion in 'Indoor Grow Journals' started by MrSmith420, Jan 26, 2010.

  1. Over the last 3-5 days, my plants are starting to look more and more like death. I don't recall changing anything. I have a seedling that still appears healthy, so i'm really not sure what is going on.

Pics attached. Here is a link to my grow journal with time line pics.

Planted Nov 22, Flowering since 1/5, currently day 21 of flowering.

    Please help :) thanks.

How often do you water them and are all your plants in the same pot?

Edit: or if your using Hydroponics, maybe its nutrient deficiency

Hydroponic setup. I just added a pinch of fertilzer labeled for flowering a couple days ago when I first noticed them going bad. Seedling not depicted is still green.

What should I do?? Makes me so sad to see them go out like this so close to harvesting :(

**Today i changed the water supply, and plucked away the dead leaves :( **

  5. Sorry I am not sure what to tell ya, did the water have anything strange in it when you changed it?

  6. No :-( everything looked ok. Would under nutrient do that??

  7. yes and have you checked the roots? maybe thats the problem

  8. i'll be honest it looks like a lack of water:smoking: did your pump shut off?

  9. I had a similar problem in my last grow, but it was a soil grow. I trimmed the plant into shock and made it believe that it was young again. Almost left the stem bare. It basically took a restart with 1 week of hard veg growth, then I went 12/12 on it. The stem was stunted, but branches grew back stronger. made for good smoke, but not a good yield.

Don't freak out, just try to salvage what you can.

I wish the best for you and your plants. Nobody deserves this especially so close to harvest.

  10. Oh hey, it could be that there is too much direct heat on your girls. That also happened to me in my earlier grows. It results in almost exactly what your are looking at.
I had to pull that out of my hardcopy paper grow journals I kept before coming to GC. I wish I could show you a pic of the plants, but it's a polaroid.
Again, i'm not 100% sure, I'm just trying to approach this from different angles.

    Good luck.

  11. Perhaps it was bc i decided to 'be clever' and tried to mask the smell by putting a drier sheet over the external exhaust fan?? i took it off last night and i'll say this..the plants don't appear to be worse today.

the plant is growing close to the light blubs and are getting heat damage. i taped it to the side away from the light...anything else i can do about that?

  12. Possibly, in a way. So i have a "tubing" from the pump to the water. early on the tubing would just sit a top the water and not blow bubbles...so i put it in that plastic meshwork to push it under the water. the lemon skunk put all its roots in that thing and possibly blocked the bubbles? i've fixed that issue also. so i guess now i have to wait and see :(

i went ahead and plucked away the dead leaves...i hope that won't shock the plant too much :(

  13. This is my girl that came back to life. Pretty cool how it happened, I learnt a lot that day. I didn't have magnification back then, so I couldn't pin point the problem exactly. I freaked out and picked it almost bare....

But it lived, and the dogs are never near the grow room.

  14. those pics are 2 weeks into flowering after 2 weeks of veg, after I freaked out and plucked all but 1 branch. The stem was stinted, didnt grow another inch. But that helped the growth of a few branches which I salvaged about 11 great grams off of. It was actually decent smoke, just not enough of it.

  15. So a couple of leaves which looked healthy fell off and dried up. i decided to put it in my pipe and see if anything would happen. as i'm sure you know (bc u tried it too??) that it tasted like dog Sh*t smells. Will my weed taste like that when it's done? It literally tasted like burning dog crap grass. and by grass, i don't mean weed...i mean the kind of grass a dog sh*t on.

In anyone's experience..how many days into flowering before those pretty 'crystals'...the ones you use to look forward to buying from your dealer... appear all over the place?

  16. You should invest in one of those magnifiers to tell the percent of cloudy and amber trichs

    when did you start flowering?

  17. Aftermath pics.

Potential causes for plants going to crap: pH, poor nutrients, bad oxygenation of water (the tubing was in fact blocked ), putting a drier sheet on the exhaust fan, using tap water.

Currently Day 66 on flowering day 21.
