Are my Lights turning her stems Red?

  1. Hello all.
Today is the end of week two of flowering for my cfl/lst bagseed girl. Many of my stems ( shoots and sugar leaves, not main stem ) have begun to turn a deep red that looks kind of splotchy and dotted. I've read a lot about this and I don't believe its that uncommon.
The thing that's got me most curious is that the red has only shown up on the top side of the stems. The 20161031_163337.jpg 20161031_163332.jpg 20161031_162919.jpg 20161031_162912.jpg red is even split down the middle on some stems, depending on the penetration of the Cfls. It seems that the only part of the stem that's red is the part under direct light.
I'm not concerned at all. Just curious.
Any light that can be shed on this topic is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  2. No not caused by your light

  3. Large fan leaf stems are always darkest on my plants. It must have something to do with the fan leaves being where nutrients are processed into sugar for the plant and combined with sunlight. Once you start budding it you're going to see the lack of lighting power as the plant tries to take off but doesn't have the photosynthesis do quite do it.

Get a $75 mars 300 from ebay so it doesn't have to suffer under CFL's.. heh.

  4. They are on different types of stems. Not just the large fan leaves. As of now I don't have a space big enough to put anything more than cfls. I would like to upgrade lights but I need to get a bigger grow space first. And I all ready started flowering, do you mean budding as in when the buds really begin to form (2-3 weeks into flower ) ? I have 1 have about 190 watts of cfl running on her. Here's a few 20161031_101726.jpg 20161029_093521-1.jpg 20161031_163505.jpg pick.
