Are hydros generally more stocky and bushy?

  1. My first hydro grow is well under way and everything seems to be going ok for a first timer. However, two of my plants are like fireplugs, short, stocky, and one was nearly like cabbage for a week or two before it gained a little height. They are healthy and have stocks like a tree trunk. By comparison my first grow in soil were far more lanky. I am growing the same strains, did a simple topping of each plant, but these hydro grown ones are like professional wrestlers!

  2. Not necessarily stockier, but growth will be faster.
The stockiness is likely strain related.
