  1. Well?

  2. No, a large number of them are simply lost in a deeper, more ingrained delusion than the rest of mankind.

  3. No.

Fundamentalists are very good at suppressing their critical thinking, however.

  4. I don't see how even moderates can claim to have any critical thinking skills TBH.

  5. Is the Pope-mobile bulletproof?;)

  6. Having true critical thinking is a next to non-existent phenomenon, moderates, fundamentalists, or otherwise. All human rationalization, "critical thinking", and so called objective decision making processes are tarred heavily by conditioning, personal beliefs about existence, and emotional bias.

Symbolism. Take a course on mythology. The bible stories aren't supposed to be taken literally (even though some christians unfortunately do), they ARE myths. For example the flood story has many variations from cultures around the world in different time periods. It's like WWE, if the characters and stories weren't larger than life who would watch it?

Here a list of flood myths and their similarities:

Oh yea, and don't diss people for there beliefs even if you don't agree or find them ridiculous. Scientology is pretty wacky too, but it's their right and choice to believe in such. Ridiculing someone for their beliefs is just cruel.

  8. I appreciate your response but good sir it is my duty to ridicule the ridiculas.

The fabric of a religious concept will not survive if it can't be flexible to the progression of time. Christianity I do believe will wither away as time and reality sweep away it's flaws. All that will be left are the morals and concepts common and true of anything still standing.

One day there will be no christians, just like other religions that do not last to this day. The concepts of them did not survive, it's really just a wait until christianity dies too.

In conclusion, *clears throat* I agree with Xanxibar, don't ridicule beliefs that you don't agree with or find yourself to be beyond. Just wait until they die out. Cheers.

  10. That's exactly what I was thinking. Not so much stupid as ignorant. And of course I mean that with the most sincere and well-meaning intent.

I think ridiculing speeds up the dying out process.

  11. I don't know, but The Amazing Atheist sure is.

  12. Very true, it's even somewhat noticeable already. Also I think religion will be much more "private" and personal in the future. Less people will be open to talk about their beliefs.

  13. Not stupid, blind and confussed

  14. You can have your opinions on a religion, that's fine. But I think it is unnecessary to ridicule it's followers. I don't agree with socialism, but I don't call my friend "stupid" for being a socialist. Still it's your right to do so, I just find it unprofessional and insensitive.

  15. All depends on your definition of stupid. If its a christian who believes in the bible literally, then yes. Saying the Earth was made 6000 years ago is the equivalent of saying that the Earth is flat - and if someone thought the Earth was flat I sure as fuckin hell wouldn't vote them to be the next president.

  16. is bolding this sufficient enough to answer the OPs question!?

the only way to justify the outrageousness of bible stories is to compare it to the fucking WWE.

and therefore, yes, i do believe people who praise a man based on ancient fairytales are in fact, stupid.

  17. 2 can bold :smoke:

Just to clarify, I'm not defending the religion. Christianity, along with many religions in general, have killed countless lives and corrupted even more. But calling it's followers stupid (though some are) isn't right either. They are as TooFastTim said:

    :D

Yea I concur. I just don't out and argue anymore, it's a waste of time. Like I said, just be patient. ;)

  20. Wow. Are you really using that guys videos to say Christians are stupid? Really?

I mean come on. At least quote Richard Dawkins or something. For fucks sake, did you watch any of his other videos?

That guy deserves no recognition in anyway.

I'm not a christian, per se, but still. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and shouldn't be trampled because they found something that, to them, gives their life meaning and purpose.

Creationism however, That's just silly :V
