Aquarius reef base begins new mission today

    Objective: Manipulating herbivore diversity in an attempt to restore the reefs. Basically culling or adding specific species in an attempt to control the local ph. If the reefs die then usually barrel sponges take over and if that happens we need to be prepared with a plan for how to negate their added CO2 output.

    For those unfamiliar, Aquarius is one of just four undersea habitats operating in the US, and the only undersea lab funded by the government. Aquarius is to the NOAA as the ISS is to NASA. Website here:
