i have never heard of anyone using an aquarium to grow indoors. i have a situation that i want my plants to just be intermingled with all my other growing indoor plants. phototron or something elaborate would be a bit noticeable but an aquarium with a few plants along with basil or something to that effect wouldnt be as. my idea is this; 20gallon aquarium with 3 cool white and one hot red florescent bulbs (or just 4 grow florescents which prob are more expensive and just as effective) on a top housing in a sunny southern window. heat and everything else will be monitored. i need to keep it simple but wanna work on some indoor genetics to clone for my northern exposure summers. anyone out there try something like this.
