Do they work? are they effective? has anyone tried them? They look pretty useful for a soil grow and im wondering if anyone hs any previous experience with them. Aqua Globes
I have read on here before, NO!, but.... I just read a post on here the other day, and I pondered this myself, of putting, say a 2" pvc pipe, drill some holes in it, stand it on end in the pot and put soil around it. then you just pour water in the pipe and it disperses it eveny throughout the pot. Just a thought, haven't tried it yet myself.
I just came in here to ask the same thing! I'm going out of town for about four days and need to figure out how to water her. Does anyone know if/how they work?
What about using drip watering? You can get a pond pump, reservoir, and a drip watering kit with timer. Set the timer to water on schedule, and make sure to have enough water in your reservoir for the time you'll be gone.
They gotta be better than no water at all. If you don't have an automated way to water on a timer, I would water them well befire I left, and stick the Aqua Globe in there. When the soil dries, the globe will release water. Bear in mind, I know nothing about this stuff (hydro guy), but I have pondered this sort of thing myself for mother.
You could try spikes that you put on 2 liter bottles, too. The spikes would allow more leeway since you have 2 liters instead two cups or so. Amazon.com: Bottle Top Watering Spike: Kitchen & Dining
