I've been doing dwc hydro, but am getting tired of all the work needed. I've considered switching to Autopots as many here are doing, but my opinion is that recirculating deep water culture hydro is simpler than Autopots, and probably more effective. Autopots, even without air domes and air stones, contain complex devices that can probably clog/fail. And there is much debate about what media to use, and how to arrange it. Setting up Autopots will be difficult for inexperienced growers unless they use a simple grow medium, know how to arrange it, and know when/how to turn system things on. If they want the full benefit of this grow method, then air domes are needed, along with electric air pumps, making it more complicated than r-dwc. Besides buckets, hoses, and nutes that most systems use, an r-dwc system uses only water, airstones + air pump, and a water pump. Below is the one I got after researching many different, and sometimes outrageously expensive systems. A similar, but sturdier, Current Culture system costs over $1000.
