this summer im moving into an apartment and i was wondering how many of you out there have ever grown in an apartment? Whats the idea place to set up shop? I was only really thinking of having like 1 or 2 plants. Theres no landlord issues becasue the place is really hands off, my friend that lives there now has yet to see or talk to the landlord after 2 years of living there
THats the way to go, pay your rent on time, and never complain...... and fix anything that can be fixed by you...... Ok i'm living in a townhouse now, but i was growing in an apartment with a wardrobe holding 2 plants..... You want to set-up in the spare bedroom, due to some fans and other things, the box can make a low level humming which is annoying to be living in the same room. You also want to make sure others can't see the box too much from outside or anything. Make sure your temps are ok in the room. The biggest part of growing in a confined space is the air flow and smell during flowering. becasue of this i recommend you buy a decent in-line ductable fan.... and a decent charcoal filter... These two items are pretty expensive, but you can't go cheap if your in an apartment, becasue the smell will travel and you'll have cops knocking you door down in no time. So decent fan for extraction, and a decent carbon filter...
the smell isnt really a problem either, its a apt complex that is occupied by a majority of college students. my friends blaze in their apt. constantly and never had any problems. but yeah i guess if the smell does get too intense then ill do something about that. Thanks for the advice
Smoking smell is very different to growing smell... I would be hiding the grow more if there are stoners in the building.... hahahaha good luck.
im also about to move out and im thinking about growing. im not going to sell, only grow. im a little concerned about getting busted for it. im goin into the military eventually and i definatly cant have that on my record. i live in a small ass town and its not like there are alot of cops or anything. but if i keep it quiet and the landlord never sees it theres no way they can tell if im growing right? i seem to remember from one of the "D.A.R.E." (anti drugs classes) way back in seventh grade, a pig talking about finding a bunch of weed growing from something like electricity bills... is that possible? anything else i need to watch out for?
It's best to be paranoid about the grow rather then relaxed.... Different things to consider are: Light - Light can be an easy give away for a grow. Light leaking out of windows at odd times of the day. Make sure you conceal you grow properly. Smell - Weed smells when it grows, not so much in growth, but heaps in flowering. Conceal your smells. Heat - Some police claim they have heat detectors on helicopters. Don't be worried unless you are setting up an entire greenhouse. Tools - There are some things you use during your grow, that are a dead give away to other growers - like buckets, fertilisers ETC..... just keep it away from eyes. Friends/Family - Most first time growers make the mistake of telling their friends or family member about there grow and show them the hard work they have put in. A simple way to ensure that no one finds out, is not to tell ANYONE !!!

I would only grow where no one can smell, but if someone had to be smelling it I would rather it be a bunch of senior citizens than a bunch of college students -- the seniors would be clueless but the students will know exactly what that smell is, tell their friends, etc.
