http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/09/the-apple-iphone/ looks pretty good to me. I'll be interested to see the new touch screen technology and to see how well OSX runs on a mobile device. and what if that was really steve job's phone number????? edit: and some pics for those who just want the eye candy steve job's phone #? nahhh couldn't be
That phone loooks fucking gorgeous. It works with my provider too, Cingular. Mother F'er I just bought a Cingular 8525 pocket pc phone as my contract was up in Nov and I didnt believe the rumors of Apple coming out with a phone. Dumb move by me, great move by Apple, that thing will fly out of the stores, if they even have a good supply when they tock them.
yea man that things gonna be fuckin sik! i just got the samsung blackjack and i love it do death. but if the iphone is better i might consider upgrading. im even surfing the net from my blackjack right now. its so badass!
FYI, this phone will be able to be unlocked for use on any GSM network (T-Mo, Rogers, Vodafone UK, etc)
Not to mention it's not out until June 2007. But the thing that pisses me off is the iPod. I've literally been waiting a year for the new iPod video with touchscreen and here it is...except it's with the phone. I wish they'd ditch the current iPod Video and start making the widescreen touch iPods so I can just get one already. The waiting has been pissing me off haha. And finally it's here!...but it's not.
the crazy thing is really the ability to run OSX on that phone. Complete with support for widgets and dockapps. I normally wouldn't buy a touchscreen phone, but apple is famous for having outstanding hardware interface.
Kinda wish it was a bit bigger than 8 gigs. I already have a 30 gig ipod and i was expecting at least 15 from that phone. I heard they are gonna run at 599$ USD which is fucking expensive
oh yesssir that is correct. and thats the price WITH the two year contract. without it's $799. Another word about the memory, keep in mind that OSX needs 500mb free to run. My guess is that they will start upgrading this phone about a year or so after initial release in much the same manner as the RAZR
os x is sick. I think windows mobile is a much better deal though and it works good, and uses a lot less system resources
Wow, $800 with no contract? You can buy a computer, mp3 player, and cell phone for that price. As well as a nice amount of bud.
I bet they will do this, or something similar. Figure out a way to pack 100 gigs into itno it and sell it partially loaded with content from itunes...call it the ipod Directors Edition or some shit.. That screen looks nice for video. Damn you Apple, with your crafty trinkets, i wonder if i can get a decent ebay bid on my current phone.
I think thats what they say you get all in one unit...(minus sadly the buds) I like cargo pants and all, but cutting down on pocket clutter would be great too
usually prices during introduction or pre-release items are so high because of price of research and developement, and also supply and demand are of coarse a factor that determined price. everything you mentioned besides the bud is becoming more and more obsolete as gizmos like the iphone come out. you could also get 800 double cheese burgers w/o cheese from McD's Also, music download fees, home isp fees, and cell phone service fees > iphone monthly rate im willing to bet which will likely include all.
Think about 3 things.... How long will the battery last if your using it as a phone and a Ipod? Lets say your commute to work is about an hour, so you have your i phone as your Ipod on, then you get to work and u use your phone... Do you think the Iphone can handle that usage? I doubt it especially since it has a screen that shows the album that its playing from which completely drains the battery. second thing, only 4 gigs on an IPOD! or 8 gigs if your willing to spend an extra 100 dollars..... i think not, ide rather have a Ipod, and my palm treo. 3rd thing, any long term user of an Ipod can tell you that the screens get scratched up no matter how good you take care of it, its just does thats the way it is, and im assuming if they didn't mention any "scratch resistance screen" then their wont be. Now you ask me will i get an Iphone? Ya when they have it available on any provider, and it has 30+ gigs.
