Sure, it doesn't solve the argument of whether capitalism is better (or greater than) than socialism or not. But it's a great empirical piece of evidence that in similar environments (geographically, ecologically, socially/culturally), capitalism is clearly outpacing socialism as for as economic standards go.
It's not just economic standards. I'm pretty sure South Korea beats North Korea easily in any and all measures of overall living standards.

China actually has a mostly capitalist economy. Very few regulations on production. It's government has a lot of control over media and politics, I believe. But yes, the Chinese economy is growing so quickly because its largely capitalist. Thanks for making that point.
China isn't nearly as socialist as N. Korea. China has opened it's markets considerably. N. Korea is better regardless as an indicator, since we have South Korea to compare it to.
