Hey, i came across a very neat machine called the hydroplex spinner. The Spinner - Hydroponic growth chamber with 360 degree plant exposure from Hydroplex I am wondering before i actually go out there and spend my 2,000$ on this machine will it actually yield 400-500g's of bud within my first grow? Also is there a special type of strain i am suppose to use with this spinner. Lastly, around how long will it take to start from a clone to harvest averagely? Please give me your Advice thanks.
Even a volksgarden is much more difficult to use and yields less than a spinner. Takes up a lot more space also. The possibility is definitely there for you to get 2lbs or more per run but you have to seriously be on top of your game. Perfect pH all the time, good tolerance levels in the nutrients, good genetics, HEAT MANAGEMENT is absolutely critical. Google spinner video's, there's tons on youtube.
you can convert the light to add 600 instead of the 400. also ive heard great things about these things. They are overpriced but one pull and youd be payed for. I will probably get one of these soon as i like to try everything. at the moment i have 4 different type of systems going.
They aren't over priced if you think about how specialized they are. Tom spent 5 years R/D on a system that you wouldn't be able to copy cat and that actually works as claimed. It doesn't come with a ballast only a socket and cord so you can do whatever light you want. I'd go with something like a lumatek 400/600 digital. Start out with a 400 and perfect the grow technique before bumping up to 600. With a 600 you really need to watch temps in the chamber. I myself have built DWC recirculating / undercurrent / and drip to waste systems and this thing is just far easier with less parts. Also they are developing a DWC conversion kit for this which will destroy any GPW ratio's currently out there. Even heath's systems.
true i said id buy one eventhough they are expensive. Also if you put a 1000 in there ive heard gets too hot. thats why i say 600 at least this is what i hear works the best in these systems.
600 is the absolute max you could run in one, maybe a 1000w dimmable on 750w if you severely air condition the incoming air. The heat isn't the issue past 600, light bleaching in. It will just cause your buds to foxtail and turn white. Unless maybe you somehow rigged a cooltube inside as well. Now... as for the expense... I could very easily replicate this system using 12 lazy susan bearings, 12 3" pulleys, some plywood, 1/8" steel cabling to make a "chain", and a 12v DC low rpm high torque gear box motor ($200). And even do it on a much larger scale to grow bigger plants. But sourcing the motor is a huge PITA, and building everything would take a very long time of trial and error. So to me this machine is well worth the price.
lilnick, did u purchase this system yet? If so let me know how much yield u get from the first run and can you like make a video of you actually plucking the cola's out from the system and lay em' down so i know its not a total rip-off system. I spoke to one of my buddies today and he said once he even gets the system he'll turn around and sell it back on ebay he says its a total-rip-off and no way u can even get a lb from a run lol.
i would have to imagine you could easily get that... depending on light size and veg time.. pretty easily.. halitizor is correct... it is a nice system... and it makes a very nice 360 plant... which some times cant happen in a non moving unit... like dead spots all over your plant.. but still.. for less money you could get an ebb and flow system with tent light, the whole shabang... and save six hundred
