hey all, i've been using pc fans for a while but only have one charger that i was able to find to put together a new fan....but need 3 fans. Anyone know if its safe to hook up several PC fans to one 12VOLT dc charger? I have one small 2"x2" (or maybe its 1.5"x1.5") PC fan that i want to connect up to but think it might be to small for a single charger so would this be okay to connect to one that already has a normal PC fan connected up to it? All input greatly appreciated, thanks city! h4
a different approach? anyone know of a different way of powering them besides with a 12v.dc? i read around about using the computer power supply but no good directions/instructions.
ok so on the the fans it should say how many milliamps it takes to run. if you look on the dc charger, it should say how many amps or milliamps it puts out. you want to not surpass the number on the charger, for example. i have a 12v dc charger that puts out .9amps or 900 milliamps. the computer fans im using require 250milliamps to run. that means i can hook up 3 fans to the one cord from the charger and still have each fan operating at maximum effiecincey. understand?
Okay cool thanks bro, this really helps alot with the explanation and all just what i was trying to find. I was looking for the mp / amp. rating on the charger and for some reason it doesnt show it, so im just gonna wait it off till one comes around at some point heh, dont need it to soon. thanks!
