Anyone know anything about this? VERY IMPORTANT!

  1. Ok we'll I thought I was getting my financial aid everything looked good and even though my grades weren't up to par it still said I was gonna get my stuff. Even when I handed in my forms to the financial aid guy he just told me I had done everything alright and I was good to go.

    Low and behold I check my college email today and it says;

The because was for my bad grades.

Now if I don't get this done I am SERIOUSLY fucked, I will be kicked out of my house, I won't go to college and shit.

My current and only glimmer of hope in this is that when I check my financial aid information it says it's all ACCEPTED?!?! I'm confused as shit, it even has a payment schedule for when I'll get my money still. Does anyone know anything about this? Am I fucked and they just aren't going to send it because of this paper or what?

I am soooo fuckin worried at the moment, I'm going down the college tomorrow but I feel like shit right now so does anyone have any idea on how this works or what?

  2. Also they sent me this email;

When I follow the instructions is where I find that I'm still being sent the money and shit.

However when I check what my charges for the semester look like it says that I will owe them 800$ BUT that says it doesn't include Financial Aid and other shit..... I'm still so damn confused -_-

  3. It is very odd that they are so contradictory, but the mail you received isn't for no reason and shouldn't be ignored.

My best advice is to try to put it out of your mind for tonight and get a DEFINITE answer when you go to the college tomorrow...

  4. I know this is the right idea and it's what I'm trying to do but fuck if it's not hard.....

On hand everything goes great, I do better this semester and my life moves on

Other hand I get kicked out of my house I don't go to college and I'm fucking homeless with no job, no spare cash to fall onto, and no transportation...... So I'm quite worried....

  5. Yeah i can understand that, it's a shitty situation.

But what can you really do about it right now? Unfortunately, nobody at GC will be able to give you a definite answer. If your grades were too low for the financial aid, I really think they're going to catch on at some point.

Not what you want to hear but its only an opinion, I wish you the best of luck and would appreciate a PM when you figure this whole thing out. Next bowl's for you and your [hopeful] good fortune.

  6. Yes I figured they were going to catch on, but when they didn't catch on last semester, and when everything seemed great heading into this semester I thought I was good to go and I actually felt like I was gonna get it done here.... so I just hope I can appeal and get away with it and actually do things right this semester.

Oh and I'll send you that PM for sure tomorrow when I figure it out

  7. Go in and explain the situation and everything. Do you know the name of the guy that told you that you were going to get it? Maybe go to somebody else and tell them that _________ told you that you were going to be getting the money and that you were depending on that and now you don't know what to do. Maybe they'll sort things out.

Is all of this in your name? If it is then be very careful if your parents kick you out, the college might charge you the money for the semester anyways if you're already enrolled and stuff and they might come after you for the money.

I didn't do so good first semester and wasn't happy so I withdrew from the college and all that and they still charged me for second semester after I had taken care of everything. The bills got paid late and my credits fucked. I hope this doesn't happen to you.

Best of luck with everything bro.

  8. My school works a little differently then yours I'm assuming, I don't think I have to worry about it getting charged since I haven't signed anything that says they can pay with anything BUT my financial aid and since I wouldn't be taking any classes I don't think I'd have to worry about that.

As far as the first part of your post, I'd love to go in there and tell them I was promised this money so I should get it but the fact is I am not academically eligible for the money so I can't tell them I was counting on it or anything because well how could I count on it, I've already signed papers that say if my GPA falls below 2.0 I understand I won't get financial aid so I'm kinda fucked there.

If I don't actually get the money this semester I'm gonna go in there and basically tell them some stories(not false ones) and hope that I can get the money. If I still don't get the money then I will be homeless starting the 25th of August

  9. I think you've heard all you've needed to hear man. Just go in first thing to the college tomorrow. Dress appropriately. Explain your situation, and maybe you'll be able to bargain with them (i.e. you get a 2.5 this semester or something like that to keep the aid for next semester).

I just wouldn't worry about it too much tonight. It is what it is, and you can't change the situation tonight. You might as well get rested and be fresh and alert for when you go in tomorrow. I don't know your parents, they seem a little strict, but if there's no way you can get the financial aid, maybe you could bargain with your parents instead.

Best of luck. Keep me updated as well, whether it be a PM or whatnot.

  10. The truth is with all the paper work that goes into getting in, and paying for college a lot of times they just get stuff wrong. Don't freak out. I willing to bet it is just some kinda warning.

  11. The sad part is my parents aren't really that strict.... but I would have no problem with them kicking me out after this.

I failed a MAJORITY of my middle school classes(I could pass on the the FCAT so it was no problem. Oh and by majority I mean 4-5 out of 6 classes, everytime) and in high school I graduated with an unweighted GPA of 2.015(need a 2.0 min to graduate). Basically, I'm fucking lazy and I have issues with regular schooling and I seem to fuck up alot. So after something like 10 years of them telling me to get good grades, and telling me to go to college and then I go and what do I do... same fucking shit...

As far as bargaining with my parents, we are very poor, and they just had to pay to get my sisters braces off. On top of that my dad has a court date for the money he owes to a credit card company, and on top of ALL that we owe the rest of my family bits of money here or there(and by bits I mean 100s of dollars) because we have had trouble doing things. So tomorrow, if I don't get the money I really don't know what I'm gonna do. It's only 800$, but I have nothing worth 800$ that I can get rid of to pay for it, no job, no savings(infact I'm in debt 40$) and really have no place to ask for the money that I could expect to get it from in family or between my friends... So really my parents aren't strict, they're just sick of my shit and to tell you the truth I don't blame them.

Oh and to make things worse, I told them I was going to college and had my classes picked out since I thought I would be getting financial aid this semester. So if shit fucks up, I'm gonna wait until the first day of school, tell them and leave my house/be kicked out. They will also feel lied to for other reasons than this, since I told them I was doing OK atleast while I was in college... Fuck... It's stupid because I just wanna look at what I did and go FUCK IM STUPID but I know that already and it won't accomplish shit to wallow in my self pity. But yeah, I fucked up but your right... there isn't really more I can do about it tonight.

  12. They wont kick you out of school for shitty grades but you will lose your finical aid. Just means you have to pay out of pocket. Get a job. You don't have to pay the bill off till like the end of the semester. Plenty of time to get a job and start paying that shit off. So you will have to work and use most of the money to pay for school but you wont be homeless.

  13. Not true here... at the college I'm attending all money is due by the time classes starts(or by Sept. 4th if you have financial aid). Sadly I don't have that option... or I wouldn't be worried

  14. Waiting 'til the last minute to tear down your little house of lies is not the best idea.

I would not doubt that, however my dad is a very aggressive person and I would chose to rather leave than fight him(Things between me and my dad have not been great as of the past 6 months, and a fight is probably where it will end atleast in the scenarios in my head) and probably hurt him(he's getting up there in age).

Basically by waiting that time, I have time to try and gather funds on my own, and if I fail I can leave. If I tell them straight up tomorrow, I will most likely have to fight my father, put large strain on my family(especially because my parents will ask the rest of my family for cash before I end up getting into a fight with him), and still have to leave most likely.

  16. go talk to the financial aid office- i really doubt you've exhausted all of your options. GL bro

  17. You can always sign up for the army or something. They pay you, you can help pay off a lot of your families debt and the army has a lot of educational benefits. On the other hand, there is a chance you die in Iraq or Iran or Afghanistan or some other dried up urban wasteland.

And even if you do go homeless my friend dnt worry about it, life is great. U can get a job im sure and make some cash. You dont need college. Just dont put yourself down, you might have fucked up quite a bit but nothing is uncrecoverable.

    Good luck man

  18. Private Loan?

  19. we dont pay for education here soo..i have no idea what could help...but I hope everything turns out ok...

well actually you could tell your parents what happened and promise you'll try more from now on and convince them to give you the money(as a loan you'll pay back) ....is that an option?they are yourfamily after all...show them you really want to study and you regret fuckin up or sth...
