  1. well im sure most of you have heard abotu the massive blizzard here in denver

well i was driving around in it all day helping people and pulling people out .....made like twenty bucks

but anyways i get all the way back to my house and see a person stuck in my neighborhood, so i stop and help push her to her house

by this point the roads were extremly bad, at least 3 ft drifts over the street curbs and at least 16" on the road, that was with the plows hitting it too

anyways i get out and i must have lost my cell phone when i got out, i was so pissed off and walked all the way from my house back to where i think i lost it. basically across the neighborhood. i went about 15 minutes after i got home and that quickly i honestly couldnt get back out of my drive way

anyweays i have verizon and i have been looking at the chocolate phone? know if there any good

since it is x mas i can most likely get a nice phone. any suggestions.

one more thing, i hate verizon and i am switchin in may when my contract is up, can i possibly get a phone through verizon and have it transfer if i havent broke or lost to my new carrier?

    thank you!

  2. ya haha im thinking the chocolate thing

fashion or not i think there somewhat cool

plus the music side appeals to me cuz i alwyas forget my ipod. and i would assume free ringtones if you have the song already

so if anyone knows if the chocolate can be transferred to another carrier and if they are somewaht sturdy, and if there are any problems with them

  3. LG is the phone for stoners! I have a trusty LG VX8300 (Recently upgraded from the model just below it for free). The old model was great, and they still managed to improve it--sleeker, just better.

Anyway, they're practically indestructible. I've heard of them falling off a motorcycle bruised with nothing more than a bit of tar.

Not sure about switching from Verizon... I've always loved Verizon, but I do know phones tend not to be very transferable between carriers unless you get one with a SIM chip, which incidentally won't work on Verizon's network :p

  4. no

In the U.S. and Canada there are two types of carriers that use two different types of technologies.

GSM (Global System for Mobile communication)- T-mobile, cingular, Fido, Rogers

CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access)- Verizon, Sprint

handsets from verizon are actually not compatible across ANY network, as Sprint won't let verizon branded phones be activated on their network.

GSM phones you can have unlocked and use the phone on any GSM technology carrier. CDMA does not work that way at all. Sorry man

edit: for the sake of correctness, i should mention that you could use a verizon branded phone on the south korean CDMA network as the code-division multiplexing is the same, but i don't think you're going there

  5. My friend has had the chocolate for a little over a month and she has already broken three of them (she has the insurance). Be careful.

  6. so for the stoned and retarded like me

you basically just said i cant get a chocolate for any other carrier huh?

i was really counting on gettin this phone too lol damn it. there has to be a way around it.

  7. There is no way around it, none whatsoever. Each handset is branded with a unique IMEI number that you must give to the cell phone company to have it activated on their network. CDMA technology (like verizon) has the chipset hardwired into the handset. There are no hacks, no workarounds...trust me, I'm the biggest technology/cell phone freak in the world. The chocolate can only be used on one network, and one network only

  8. damn that is some bullshit

i dont want to spend money on a nice new phone only to haev to get another one

fuck any other good cool phones similar that are transferable?

  9. It's going to be ANY verizon phone, not just the chocolate that you can't transfer to another network.

what's going on with your VZW contract? paying too much? are they fucking you over?

honestly, if you want a better phone and to get off of the verizon network, i would just wait until your contract is up. After that, you can switch to a GSM carrier like T-mobile or Cingular.

GSM phones have what's called a SIM (subscriber Identity Module) card thats about the size of a thumbnail located underneath the battery. This has all the network and telephone information on it, you can also save address books to it as well. If you want to switch phones, all you have to do is pop the SIM card out and put it into the new phone, no need to call customer service.

you like a phone from T-mobile, but you want to use it on cingulars network? not a problem, have the T-mobile phone unlocked for $30, pop in your cingular sim card....and in about 30 seconds you are up and running.

On CDMA technology (verizon, sprint), network identity is hardwired into the handset (i.e. it's not software that can be hacked)

  10. hell ya verizon is fucking me over

i have one of the cheapest pacakages and am still managing to pay about 100 a month

    its really a bitch

im gonna have to buy a shitty cheap phone for now i guess

    thanks for the help

  11. Yeah....I was talking to a lady at Best Buy about them...she said to get the insurance, they break with ease.:smoking:

  12. i actually have a friend who is on his 4th chocalate phone considering how easily they break. i think waiting for a few months would be the best option because that phone seems to be poorly made at the moment.

  13. Yeah, that's what was happening to me too... but I managed to get my bill down to about $60/mo. Definitely do the prepackaged txt messaging, makes a big difference.

What else is on your bill? Oh, and don't use 411! They have a really cool little app you pay for once, and you get basically a phonebook on your phone, then you can look up all your numbers you need without paying for "directory service" which charges you out the ass.

  14. if you want service, a phone that will have bars 95% of the time (in CO) go nextel..im usually the only one with service when everyone else doesnt have any..

    and yeah..what a storm
