Anyone good with Linux?

Ok well, my Windows was fucked up beyond all shit so I had my friend get me a Linux Boot Disc. It contained Ubuntu 8.0.4 and so far it's fucking awesome. It's my first time using Linux and some things I don't completely understand.

On to my problem though; I was recently banned from a website(it's a long story) and I've been trying to get back in(not to start trouble, but to keep viewing) because my ban doesn't lift until June 14th. All the online proxies(like the bootleg ways to get into myspace at work and what not), are already banned because of stupid people fucking around with them. So I've been trying to find a proxy system that works, however I keep running into trouble. Firefox 3.0.5b came bundled with Ubuntu so I can't install ToR because it only works for Firefox 2.

I tried using FoxyProxy, but it runs through ToR and Privoxy(neither of which I can figure out how to get to work[especially tor since you need the extension for it to work on Firefox]).

Can anyone help me, or show me a proxy system that works... or point my to a program that would be picked up by my Synaptic Package Manager so that I may download it. Anyone?

Proxies work on the website.

However Online proxies E.G. http://www.online-proxy.info/ don't work

Now because the online proxies such as the one in the website I posted have already been used for stupid stuff, they've been banned, and it's difficult to find one of those that works(I searched for 3 hours last night and found nothing). So I need to install a proxy system on my computer, however as stated the ones I've found so far(Privoxy, TOR, and FoxyProxy) I haven't been able to get working, or need things that I don't have(or can't get) to get working.

So I was wondering if someone had a proxy setup they could recommend, or a program that uses proxies to hide my internet that I could have. However I need this program/setup to work with Ubuntu 8.0.4 and Firefox 3.0.5b

 

Yes there are thousands of them, however I tested something like 300+ and they had already been banned. On top of this, there have to be many other people like me trying these(or like in the past for more sinister reasons) so I think of it as a lost cause.... and damn you knowing nothing about linux... you gave me hope and then crushed it ;_;

 

Well since you've asked I'll sum up the reasons I have;

It was my primary source of entertainment
I have no job(economy where I live is based on tourism which means no jobs during non-tourist season)
I currently dont have a girlfriend
My friends are out of my range(I have no car >_<)
I have no weed
No one starts playing basketball where I live till about 6:00pm which leaves about 5-6 hours of boredom
It's also a case of, now that I can't go there... I REALLY want to
