Anyone else working with a pest and mold free season this year?

  1. Just wondering cause so far I have the priveledge of saying I am in this club and very proud of it just wondering what everyone has done this year for prevention. I use neem, pyrethrin and soap in my sprays once a month for maintainence. I just picked up spinosad for any problems that may crop up in flower and used bt once at the onset of flower. I also noticed my organic nutes I have added here and there its called Green Trees and is based out of Chico,CA , has neem meal in it and read up on its benefits and see no reason not to use this especially outdoors. Using neem meal gives a plant resistance to pests and mold even more so than I would by itself makes sense as it draws it up into the plant itself and it keeps anaerobic bacteria at bay in the soil so all win wins. :) Happy Harvest this year kids and stay on top of your pest and mold control you will thank yourself in the end and have much less stress because of it.

I right there with ya bro. I pulled one little worm off about 2 months and have not seen one since. I like that your using the local stuff. Got to rep Chico. I think it been to hot this year for the worms guess. I have only bt once every two weeks to.

  3. And I thought it was all the BT & Azamax I've been using...havent had any bud worms or mites...

I haven't seen shit but some grass hoppers once in a while, used safer brand end all spray once a month but I got two mantis sacks from the hydro shop few months ago got them fuckers everywhere, theres a purple mantis in my garden always kicks it on my grape kush..
if I do see one worm i'm light the whole garden up with azamax, just waiting to see one I'm relying on my wasps and my mantis as of now..

  11. combating mold right now :/ , 3-4 weeks into flower

it seems to go away (even though i really now it isnt) then come back randomly

  12. tell it to go away!

  13. yeah right, i dont like having to cut leafs off cause of mold

  14. I had one of the worst pests there is hit my guerilla garden this year. A flood.!!!
My lone plant in the backyard has had some minor orange fly and katydid damage, but nothing to speak of. Botrytis is the devil down here, so weeks 4 and 5 of flower is when I'm the most nervous. We get through that and things are good.

  15. Mantis' and wasps eh? Haven't heard about them before, are they good for worms?

I haven't seen anything except for some grasshoppers. I keep seeing the small orange and white butterflies around so I'm bracing myself for worms but have not seen any yet.

I'll cross my fingers and keep spraying with neem oil.

  16. Wasps will sting and fly away with small caterpillars such as inchworms. Mantis eat a wide variety of insects.

Wanna see a pic of an insidious effin reefer bug? IDK about all parts of the country, but in the southeast these bastards can wreak havoc if left unchecked and tend to be super concentrated where bahia grass is grown for the production of hay. Organic pest control methods will slow them down but not eliminate them.

Edit: enlarge and check out the wild antannae on this grasshopper. Whoever knows the scientific name of it will get free rep LOL!!.

  18. Hmm... Grasshopperea Douchebaggis? Just kidding I have no clue, it looks like the same kinda hoppers we get around central Cali though.

I was inspecting my colas this morning and noticed what appears to be caterpillar damage, i.e: munched on trichomes and small brown dots (feces). The problem is I couldn't find the little bugger anywhere. There was a grasshopper chilling in that same area, does anyone know if grasshoppers can cause the same kind of damage?

Any insight would be much appreciated, I hope I don't have a budworm problem already.

  19. Very mild year for bugs. I use microbe rich teas to keep powdery mildew and mites at bay, have seen none so far this year. Also have done maybe 3 sprays of Azamax as a preventative during veg, as well as a few thousand ladybugs and 4 mantis cases that hatched in June. I have some leaf miner damage on at least a few leaves on every plant, but they dont seem to hang around. Maybe its the silica additives they dont like. Also have lots of blue belly lizards and a shit ton of birds in my grow area all day so Im pretty sure the large majority of caterpillars are just plain fucked if they try to cross open ground.
This season has been almost toooo good. Whens the other shoe drop?!

  20. Dont know the scientific name for that guy, but its definitely a katydid of some sort.... _maybe Eatimus Buddicus?
    Kill it now,
