Never drag the past into a new relationship. First off it might show you still have unresolved feelings, second it isnt fair to your new partner. But im sure you know this which is why you arent pursuing anything new. You're completely right dude, trust is huge and if your trust levels low right now, starting a relationship isn't gonna go over well. But that doesnt mean you cant play the field

Well because it's a different woman dude. She ain't your ex , she's her own person with her own thoughts and feelings most likely differing from your ex's. But don't come off explaining about what's past. Of course you remember it and of course you wanna make shit clear to your new partner . In which case use actions that improve on past mistakes rather than words. Actions speak volumes while words are just words. You improve on what your weaknesses were in past relationships by taking action to make sure you don't repeat past mistakes while never speaking a word to your new partner on what those mistakes were.

Shit, the only thing I can come close to this. An ex a few years back, nice girl. But wanted sex literally everyday.
