Anyone else marinade their joints

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by simple toke, Feb 9, 2014.

  1. For the longest I'd always roll my wake n bake joint the night before then throw it in my jar over night to keep it fresh and i feel it soakes up more of the smell and flavor from the rest of the bud. Anyone else?...those who don't. ...I think you should :)

I Don't leave blunts in there though, I had just rolled it up and threw it in to go shit...

  2. I don't get it man. The joint paper soaks up the good shit, but if you don't do it won't the good shit just be in the bud, in which you will be smoking?

  3. Simply, when a joint is in a container with the bud, it soaks up the terpenes in it. Terpenes are what give the scent as well as taste. You are not losing any good shit just adding flavor OP.

  8. makes 0 sense. The bud that is broken up is releasing terpenes due to being broken up. Putting it in the jar does not soak up terpenes from un broken un disturbed nugs that are holding the terpenes deep in the plants oils. If it did I sure would not be trying to make the rest of my stash taste worse.

  9. I read the Title and thought you meant like soaking the joint in Booze.

  10. I know guys who marinade their joints in codeine

  11. Thanks for the Pm nank dugss but if you are going to call me names have the balls to do it in public.

  12. I'm not quite sure if that theory is logical.

Essentially, you already have your good-good inside the rolling paper. It's already absorbing that, if anything at all. What's the point of putting it in a jar with the rest of your weed and making it smell like burnt shit?

There's a certain limit to how much anything can absorb anyways.

  13. I'm confused...how does a freshly rolled joint in a jar of weed make it smell burnt lol

Also, guys I'm just saying I throw it in there over night. So it's still fresh in the morning...I said I liked to THINK it makes a difference in the smell and taste and honestly it does. Try it for yall selves instead of hating :) stay high my friends

It soaks up the terpenes...

Okay, now lets think about this logically.  The maximum amount of terpenes is already present in the cannabis before you break it up, but once you break it up and expose more of the plant matter's surface area, the highly volatile terpenes are more capable of oxidizing and/or evaporating which can be observed by the aroma your bud is letting off.

OP, If anything, prematurely exposing the plant matter to a higher surface area is going to decrease both the smell and taste of your bud, but since you are consuming it the next day and controlling oxidation and evaporation by utilizing a jar, then the change should be insignificant.

  20. If anything its a placebo, so I like to think it works lol
