Anyone else in USA hope to move to a warmer climate?

Discussion in 'Real Life Stories' started by PA2Elsewhere, Jan 23, 2014.

  1. I've been trapped in PAINsylvania for many years.  I have to sell my house before I can leave.  Planning to spend about a year in Myrtle Beach area, then either to Florida or out West.  Anyone else unhappy in cold winters?  I especially would like to connect with people who live in low crime areas who use good local rail transportation in areas with warmer winters.

  2. No im not a sissy and I can handle the cold

  3. Just moved to Florida after living in Utah for 19 years...  Never been happier!!!

There's a place in Arizona where I want to make a winter home for a few months or so, away from the Colorado cold and snow. It'll take some time to make it happen, but I have a plan, and I'm executing it...

  5. Naa shitty winter makes spring and summer oh so much betterSent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

  6. I agree dude summer time in N. Michigan is the greatest, but at the same time I wouldn't mind skipping a couple winters for something warmer.

  7. Florida is great if you can stand the right wing ignorant bible thumpers....but you must have a car to get around, public transportation is severely lacking.....

It's no coincidence that I up and left for Australia at precisely this time of year.

I was home for this past Christmas and whooee, was I glad to get back to the miserable heat down under. :smoke:

    Also, welcome to GC, OP!

  9. nah can't beat nyc.  plus i hate the heat,  i'm built for cold weather.

  10. It's terrible.

  11. Been in Pennsylvania since I was born, am now 21. This state does see some cold days, but this is still a beautiful region of the country that I wouldn't trade for anything. But Fuck the inner city, that's all I gotta say.Sent from my anus.

  12. I've lived in Connecticut my whole life. I'd love to move to Florida but idk anymore. My brother moved to Florida a few years ago after living here his whole life and he says he hates it. I think it's just because he hasn't really made many friends there though, other than some people at work Sent from my iPod touch using Grasscity Forum

  13. Lol I live in the San Fernando valley in Los Angeles, it's been like 80 here all week. Summers get brutal though

  14. In Illinois and this winter was bad but if I move id go to Colorado. Cold weather ain't a thing for me, but I may be moving to Tennessee which may be a bit warmer. Sent from The Gods.

  15. I've lived in NY for over thirty years and I toyed with the idea of moving. I travel a lot and I have a feeling that I would get tired of any place if I start to pick it apart. I'll probably live most of my life in NY. I like escaping once and a while, but I like the crazy mood swings that mother nature brings to the state.

Now if I could just get the rest of the people to move to warmer areas I'd be set!

Miami is a great, warm winter city, but the crime rate is not low and our rail system sucks.  Plus the people here are completely crazy.

  17. Being from the midwest originally, I think winter here in Denver is easy.  Yes it snows a lot and yes it can be cold, but our average high temps throughout winter are around 40.  Lots of days get well into the 50s, and the snow melts pretty quick.

I'm trying to move to Taos or Santa Fe though, I am looking for a slower paced, more laid back lifestyle.

  18. I live in fl and I'm probably gonna get shit for this but it's cold as fuck here right now

  19. Simi Valley California is nice

  20. I intend to move to Arizona. They're cooler about guns out there. Plus California and Mexico are right over the border.
