  1. Every year I grow I end up gettin poison ivy all over from takin care of my babies. How do you deal with this!?!?

  2. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of... weed !

Learn what poison ivy looks like and AVOID it.

I got nailed this year by a stinging nettle, but it was dark lol

  3. Poison ivy is ALL- American, I am glad to say.

  4. id say wear long pants and a longsleeve shirt maybe some gardening gloves to work on your babies. Leave the poison ivy as it will deter others from waling to your plot.

  5. Yeah you really have to watch out for it.

Around here we have Poison Ivy, Poison Oak, some shit called "Cow Itch" and a few others.

By ALL means try and avoid it.

Cantharis, Thats pretty cool! I didnt know that. (never thought about it) You have no indiginous plants that cause severe skin irritaions?

A Hilarious thing actually happened to me once involving Poison Oak, MJ, and a Big Black Man. But not Growing it.

  6. Check out Ivy Block Lotion

  7. Never said that, but we sure as hell don´t have poison ivy.

When you get home change your clothes and don't mix them with others. Put your contaminated clothes in the wash.

If you have a dog, don't take him with you, or don't pet him. You'll want to give him a rinse when you get home.

    Google for more info! ;)

  9. dude, you dont know the hell im going through.:rolleyes:

  10. You need a lotion that you wipe on your skin before you got out like bentoquatam or Ivy block or similar. The idea is to provide something for the urushoil oil to bond to before it penetrates the skin. Wash well with soap and cold water as soon as possible and wash clothes with detergent immediatly. And obviously avoid the stuff it at all possible. I'm highly alergic and I haven't had it in years as I've learned to recognize it and tread very lightly around it.

  11. i have this problem, solution long pants and shirt, and a shower as soon as i get home:D

  16. Rub it on the inside of someones clothes. or just put a branch down their shirt.

  17. I'm immune to poison ivy. Hah it's great, I can get to all the least desired areas to plant, definately a good factor on my side.

Apparantly my dad got it really bad as a kid and never got it again since, maybe he developed an immunity or something.
