Anybody smoked heavy then quit for a few years, then started again?

Discussion in 'Experienced Cannabis Enthusiasts' started by TurboTrucker, Aug 16, 2004.

  1. I smoked for 9 years, needless to say I really loved it. But I was at the point where I was controlled by the weed - I had to have it, and I smoked all day. I would smoke 6-8 times a day. Actually I was at that point for several years.

I ended up quitting, and it's been over 4 years now. Funny thing, after 2 weeks of not smoking it was real easy to not smoke.

I will always be a stoner, and plan to smoke again in the future. I've been thinking about it lately, I don't think I want to start again just yet but I'm wondering if anybody else has been in the same situation.

I have great concerns about it taking over my life again, I love the weed but hate HAVING to have it.

  2. good choice to quit for awhile if you wanna start again take control right away.....

make a limit for yourself don't be a pothead

like do 2-3 bowls a day max, 1 joint, 1 blunt

    1 of these not all 3 :)

And just take your time smoking you don't need to do it every day, if you teach yourself to only smoke so much a day it'll be no problem

  3. I used to smoke A LOT, like all day everyday. Eventually it got to the point where I was burned out so I quit for a while. Weed is just like everything else in this world, moderation is the key. I've picked up smoking again but only like once a day. It's much better to live a normal life and get high once in a while than to live for getting high. Remember, hobby not habit.

I'm sure if pathetic ol me can learn moderation after quitting then you can too.

  4. you hit it right on the head.

  5. quitting for a while is always a good idea because when you start smoking again, you get really fucked up. when you don't smoke pot your tolerance goes down and then when you start again ... it's ridiculous. go for it dude. in moderation.

  6. Yeah the last couple weeks before I quit I was smoking much less, once a day. Just one hit would do the job.

  7. Right on baklavation, I LOVE yes, im listening to relayer right now.

  8. Though I agree moderation is the key for smoking, I don't think the " everything in moderation " idea is best for everything else in life.

  9. wow, thats great. I truly can never see myself sober for a year, well at least at the moment. the best part for you is that your going to get blown like its the first few times ya smoked (nothing ever compares to the first time).

I too like others lost control of it, and ive called it quits a couple days ago. I kno it's bad when mids don't do much unless i smoke the whole sack and $20 a bag was the only option. Those soon went up in smoke quick and i decided to cut down.

The results were dramatic as within a month, i went from a G a day to a bowl, and now nothing. As i cut down, it got easier to get high, but a break is still neccessry since I need to be clean anyways. I know that after a couple months, my tolerence will be down to where i can enjoy getting blown again.

  10. in the past year i smoked really heavy, i was prolly close to an eigth a day, i basically was stoner retarded my whole senior year, which i might add is was very fun. but now that i have graduated and am working i cant smoke while at work like i could at school. i work construction so its hard to go to work stoner because i get lazy. but anyway back to the topic, i have cut down from about 3-3.5 g's a day to about a gram to a gram and half a day and its a lot better. i see it as when i wasnt working or at school i was stoner retarded all day. so now i start my smoking day after work.

  11. yeah like the time i had sex with my gf like 5 times a day for like a month..............

    wait...that was a dream

  12. Well I sorta got high (just a tiny tiny bit), I guess just testing the waters. Damn the smell brought back memories from when I was 16.

  13. I quit for about a year and a half. When I started back, I decided to set up a "weed budget". I give myself a certian amount of money to spend on blaze. I only went over the limit twice. I bought 2 oz for 4/20 and 1 oz for a snow day.

  14. I smoked more than Bob Marley( well, okay, not quite) in high school, then quit for 3 years while i was in the Army. random tests and shit, no good. But now im back at it, in moderation, i say again MODERATION!! thats the key!!!
