  3. I was driving my wife's old 2000 Honda Civic before that...lol. It's so nice to be sitting upright again.

  4. I had a 1997 grand Cherokee overland, i miss that thing terribly.
Had a decent lift and tires, was very fun at the OHV on the weekends.
I remember taking friends to the OHV, finding a good spot in some crevice in a hill and watch the trucks play in the mud while we spark a joint.

Nothing wrong with civics, i had a 08 Si few year back as a commute car. Those things are super fun in the canyons.
Currently looking at rubicon 4 doors.

  5. Rubicons are sick nice... but I couldn't justify the price. I just got the 4 door unlimited sport S. I was thinking about the sport C. You know, the one here you have to roll your own windows down...lol.

Civic as like driving a go kart. Man I am so happy to be out of that

  6. The lighter the better!
I love all jeeps, the old ones have character for sure.
Yeah rubicon costs too much, but I need that dual locker... i like the tough terrain trails.

My mom's BF has the Cherokee trailhawk, i must admit, didn't like it at first but after a few dirt road trips, that thing is respectable.

  13. I know it's an 8 year old thread but am wondering how many Jeep fans are here. Got an '05 Wrangler TJ 3 years ago, supposed to be just for snow emergencies. Right. The first time I drove it I didn't want to drive anything else. Now it's 3 years later and I'm as addicted to Jeeps as a crackhead is to crack. Found a Wrangler specialist right down the road and he's doing work to it. He's had it for 4 months now and it's almost finished. New(used) rust free tub from SC. New fenders, tailgate, and windshield frame. Cleaned any surface rust off of the solid frame and then 2 coats of POR15 while the body was off. Along with new stainless brake lines. New carpet and wheels(on the way). And then had the whole thing painted in Raptor Liner very close to the original color. Here's the first pic I got after the painter was done. Just needs buttoning up, putting final parts back on and I should have it back next week sometime. I'm Jones'in bad for it. thumbnail_22446.jpg

  15. Outstanding. Love it. Nice paint! Post a detail journal when done please. What suspension work if any? Gears? Lockers? Dont laugh but I always wanted a moded willy's cj 2A or3B . Yeah when done up there isnt much willy's left but in high school there were a few around town that were built "perfect" IMHO. Also drove one that was stock gears and engine. Unbelievably capable right out of the box but forget the street ability. Problem is i would need 2 of them. One to fix and one to drive. If you are into offroad, I watch Matts offroad recovery on youtube and the channels of the people that circle him. Chk it out. I think you will like the offroad mod world stuff. Jeeps are like ARs. Mods mods mods. I am at a stage that I appreciate jeeps but I dont ever see me in one. I'll enjoys yours from afar.

From experience I'd be cautious of taking her of road with the new shiny paint job, unless you can get some coverage for it, like extra pva gloss to protect it from stone chips,
I'm land rover/range rover myself, but yeah congrats

    good luck

ps ask your man to check the suspension rubbers, often a weak spot on a refurbished job,
and worth the 'investment' later on the drive

  17. Love my jeep. They are truly something else.

4" full suspension and 38x13.5x17 trail grappler tires, 3.0 turbo diesel with tune. 520 lbs of torque helps spins these tires with ease.

Agree, a high clearance ='s a high center of gravity & easy to flip. Going out of your way to beat the piss out of an expensive vehicle??? IMO it's the driver not the vehicle. Our "guide" took us down an old river bed near Central city Co 1982ish (Mamouth lake?), a international harvester 4x4, a Ford f150 4x4 & the guides wifes station wagon NO 4x4??? :confused_2::metal:

  19. If only jeeps had air suspension that could raise to “high” mode for off road and “low” mode for the street/track.

  20. I always thought jeeps were cool until I learned about their death wobble. Wtf, why and how has that still not been fixed yet?
