I know the focus has been indoor monoterped Cannabis that looks nice but mostly lacks sustenance and any real profile or appeal outside of instagram. I know their are a few Cali growers like Kevin Jodrey and Mean Gene who have been doing alot of outdoor growing for years and swear by it, but I don't hear about the major Euro market seed makers pushing any outdoor strains anymore like the old school dutch genetics that were around in the 80s and 90s that could withstand growing in Canada and the UK. These same genetics that Dutch companies made haven't changed much just weird to see cannabis becoming more accepted but less sifting is being done for outdoor cultivation in colder climes. I know dutch coffee shops have been taken over by Cali indoor grown but just makes no sense to me that now outdoors is easier to do and can have real investors you would think Sensi and Dutch Passion would be all over making instagram strains that hold up in tough climates by sifting large populations of the California strains they have. Their should be a movement to make a library of strains and keep it in the public domain now big business is involved and have their patents waiting. If every grower everywhere can start actually breeding instead of pollen chucking for trichome production Cannabis could become what the beer industry has evolved to today with the large amount of Craft brewers competing with the big two corporations due to a concerted effort to keep the old school techniques alive and adding in new age flair to them like the craft beer industry succeeded in doing so, so well that the Big 2 beer companies spent alot of time and money trying to buy everyone out and merge all brewers into one to eliminate competition through mergers, this luckily did not work and we have the awesome craft beer flavours of today thanks to craft pioneers.
Power Plant and many standard euro strains can still be got in the coffee shops with ease its the Dutch who are tightening things up of late Perhaps the Dutch breeders are waiting for something outta the states thats worth the effort?
