Any UPS employees here?

    I worked there for a holiday part-time job as a package handler. I recall donuts on Fridays, and a truck that came into the building so you can buy lunch or whatever on your break.

    Wow i never got doughnuts! But have had cookouts and snakes on break 1 time a week every 2 weeks or so. Never had a foodtruck thought im at a smaller hub. 
     
    Was you a loader or unloader?

    I see this one UPS driver at my summer job everyday, and I kid you not, the guy is almost exactly like Tommy Chong.
    Voice, demeanor, rough appearance. Everything about him screams Tommy Chong, or at least a stoner from B.C.

    Canadian UPS drivers can they have beards? Here in the states no beards allowed for drivers

    Loader I worked the early morning shift and got out around 9 or 10 ish in the AM

    I am not too sure about that rule but, funnily enough, the guy at my work always rips on me when I forget to shave my beard.
    I'm almost certain that I've seen UPS drivers with beards though

    Yeah man loading freaking sucks. DId you like it at UPS? I worked on unload for 6 months until i got a herniated disc and now im in the smalls area :) Still go around loading and unloading from time to time

    Yeah man dead snakes cooked on the bbq is good :p Meant snacks LOOOL I HATE SNAKES!  :eek:

    It was alright, I wasn't a fan of the extreme loss prevention tactics..I understand why they have it in place but it felt shitty working for a company that won't trust ya to put boxes in a truck. I felt so burnt out after the holiday I don't think I'll ever do it again hahah props to ya for being there.

    Yeah man its deff not an easy job! You work your ass off. But that insurance for part time is the best! And after you been there for awhile your pay is great also

    Bumping this thread bc I applied at UPS and it looks like a job that I would really enjoy. I like working hard and I'm definitely a morning person.

    Did any of you guys get screened for the mj? I didn't get any calls or anything but I have stopped smoking. I only applied for the part time package handler.

    it might be different by state, but i know ups hubs in ohio dont drug test.  i've been working in pretty much every area except load for a little over a year now.  i'm not sure why, but i really like working for ups.  the job can be really shitty sometimes but we have a great union and great benefits.
