Any strains you should avoid cooking into edible?

    They say you can eat all marijuana strains and make into edible. That seems to be a golden rule.

    But are there any strains that one should avoid because it could turn way too strong when made into edible?

    Seems like a few particular strains especially sativa get even more exponentially strong than other strains when turned into edible from flower.

    if you use a servings calculator you know what youre eating so the thc level wouldnt matter as youd be ingesting the same serving regardless.

    Use BadKats simple recipe and all the doses will be so close to identical as to be perfect.

    Strains really don't really make a whole lot of difference when eaten IME.

    Bud oil 1 drop = 1mg
    Kief-Hash oil 1 drop = 3mg
    High end concentrates 1 drop = 6mg

    Decarb 240 F for 40 minutes uncovered

    5 grams Kief or Hash or powdered buds or concentrates
    1 tablespoon Coconut oil
    1/2 teaspoon Lecithin
    Combine
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes
    Freeze
    Heat 220 F for 20 minutes.
    Done

    5 grams of buds = 750mg THC
    5 grams of Kief = 2,500mg THC
    5 grams of Concentrates 4,500 mg THC

    Strongest sativa's anyone have experience. Sativa edibles that are very strong is the only thing that gets me anxious for some reason.... When you're on it for days after days and than something will push it over the edge with sativa edibles particularly, not really indicas at all. It's these rare sativa's imo that can really get you messed in a psychological way. Who's seen a video of og crying on sativa edibles lol?

    When we're talking about edibles, IMO, Strains don't matter to me as much as actual quality.

    I would not use my top shelf weed for edibles. Top shelf weed is like top shelf Whiskey/Liquor.

    Are you going to take your special select 15 year aged whiskey retailed at $200 and make a cocktail or are you going to drink that bad boy neat or on the rocks? Sure, you can make a cocktail with your expensive stuff, but it'll be a waste since the star of the show should be the actual whiskey which has special flavor profiles you wont find with cheap spirits.

    Bars use mostly "well liquor/well drinks" for mixes and cocktails (unless you specify what you want).

    Using this same concept for weed and edibles, I would save my top shelf weed for actually smoking and use mids, shake/trim for edibles.

    I purchase the cheaper high thc content shake at dispensary to make into edibles. I dont have enough keef to make those capsules. :frown:
